We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our ride.You will be joining our Structured Data team as a Machine Learning specialist. Focus is on content extraction, document analysis and categorization. The Structured Data team is working on content extraction and repurposing to allow content to be rendered on multiple channels (desktop, mobile, social media etc.). This work includes pdf decomposition, image analysis, document structure analysis, text analysis and categorization. We are looking to extend the team with someone who can add their strong machine learning competencies, bringing value to our product and users, and mentoring the team to increase its machine learning skills. We are looking for someone who has
- a Master’s degree in CS or equivalent,
- technical depth and practical work experience in machine learning and algorithms,
- ability to gather data and implement ML models and evaluate their accuracy as well as producing production quality code,
- has worked with deep learning models; NLP, Image analysis, Text analysis, RNN,
- experience with model validation, verification and visualization,
- worked with functional languages (e.g. OCaml, Ml, Erlang, Elixir),
- excellent communication skills in English

Other things you should know are
- we're currently working on Issuu’s Story Cloud both on web and mobile apps, machine learning for better understanding of our content, internal analytics and our famous reading experience to mention a few examples,
- we currently use Ocaml, Python, Javascript and we’re extremely open to using new languages and/or technologies,
- our architecture is microservice-oriented using AMQP,
- we use CI/DC and deploy multiple times a day on AWS and use Docker Swarm, SQL, Redis, Node, etc.,
- we strive to be agile (Who doesn’t?), but we're not religious about Scrum, Kanban or any other methodology.
