Become a trusted finance advisor to R&D management
As our R&D Finance Analyst, you will support fact-based and transparent decision-making by delivering excellence performance reporting and analytics to our management and key stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities
Department controlling
- Drive financial processes within R&D area.
- Continuous R&D and Strategic Projects department controlling, ensuring transparency and accuracy in numbers.
- Close collaboration with head of department and team to proactively ensure adherence to budget.
- Establish and support business cases that may be required to assess business direction and decisions.
Business case ownership and coordination
- Drive and own business case establishment and updates throughout the NPD (New Product Development) process, from new product identification, nomination, development, submission and launch phases (life cycle management after launch is managed by other stakeholders).
- Close collaboration with portfolio, innovation, R&D and launch team, as well as Commercial teams, Global Product Supply, Quality, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance (and other key functions).
- Support transparency and accuracy of data, ensuring that key assumptions are captured, and if changed throughout the process, see through updating of data and ensure stakeholder awareness.
- Drive dialogue with relevant functions in Xellia and establish strong networks.
- Be the key contact into finance, representing the finance team and coordinating with the other finance functions (e.g. site controllers) to get accurate and relevant information.
- Drive and own business case establishment for Strategic Projects.
- Depending on project nature, drive and/or support establishment and continuous updating of these together with PM.
- Support data gathering for decision-making.

You will be based at our headquarters in Copenhagen, working alongside experienced finance professionals and reporting to our Senior Manager for Financial Planning & Analysis
Joining an area in development, you are motivated by the potential to influence our processes, putting your own mark on our business. You believe in solving issues as they arise, which is supported by your ability to find solutions. You rely on accountability to build strong relationships with your stakeholders, and you are equally encouraged by diving into analyses as presenting findings to senior management.
- You hold an M.Sc. in economics, finance or accounting and have achieved excellent academic results.
- You have 3+ years of business finance experience, preferably including department controlling, business case establishment and development combined with strong understanding of generic and innovative pharmaceutical product development aspects and commercial market environments.
- It is a definite plus if you have experience from a pharmaceutical company and are familiar with using financial IT systems for reporting.
- You have excellent analytical skills and the ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
- You thrive when working independently in a performance-oriented environment with tight deadlines and high quality requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
