Over the last couple of years we at Topsoe have significantly increased our focus on - and expanded our activities in the field of - Power-to-X and especially the Solid Oxide Electrolysis cell technology; this student assistant position is a part of Topsoes increasing activities in the field of SOEC technology.
Who we're looking for
Topsoe is currently looking for a dedicated and proactive Student Assistant to join our Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (SOEC) Performance team which is a part of Power-to-X at Topsoe.Who we're looking for
Your main tasks will be to support our scientists by doing scanning electron microscopy imaging of a variety of different SOEC cells and the work also includes advanced sample preparation. You will be joining a very cross disciplinary team and work together with ceramic processing, electrochemistry and micro-nano structure analysis scientists – all with the task and eagerness to develop the highest performing and long-term stable SOEC cells.; and here microstructural characterization is a crucial tool to gain insight and improve the cells.
Furthermore, we are looking for a student assistant who can work 10-12 hours per week with a possibility for extra hours e.g. when semesters are not running.
What you'll bring
We are seeking a student who has recently finished their Bachelor thesis project or is doing the Bachelor thesis work within autumn 2024 or spring 2025; in other words having roughly at least 2 years of study left before finishing your Master. The ideal candidate is studying Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or another related field. Practical experience in a chemical laboratory via lab-courses is an advantage as well as experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM).What you'll bring
You are a team player but still capable of working independently and produce results without compromising safety in the lab. You are open, self-driven, and not afraid of asking questions or making mistakes. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving skills.Why join us
