Do you want to help set direction, align on architecture, provide guidance for an area that contains a variety of stakeholders across our research laboratories, and co-create future solutions for Novo Nordisk in the R&ED area? Do you have experience from being a System Architect working in Agile teams, or an experienced Solution Architect for multiple engineering teams, then becoming a Senior System Architect for Modalities Cluster might be the path for you! This role invites you onboard into DD&IT, where digital, data, and IT fosters. DD&IT partners with the business to support digital transformation and innovation in all parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain – from idea to patient. The digital transformation marks with high priority, and the journey is on to stay on top of everything digital in Novo Nordisk. It’s a global journey to join with 2100+ colleagues worldwide, driving tasks with a twist of either digital, data and IT. About the department You will become part of our DDIT-RED Architecture & Sandbox department located in Måløv, Denmark. The department currently consists of 7 architects and is building up additional capabilities and capacity. The department is part of Research & Early Development IT, which consists of more than 105 skilled colleagues located in Måløv, Bangalore, Boston, Seattle, Beijing, and Oxford. We are responsible for major IT systems and projects in Novo Nordisk, as well as the scientific IT infrastructure in Research & Early Development. We constantly deliver the great IT solutions that our scientists in R&ED need in order to drive the revolution of drug development. About the position As a System Architect, you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and leading the architectural design and implementation of robust and scalable systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will guide the development process, ensure architectural integrity, and provide technical expertise to support project success. You will ensure that information architecture supports efficient and effective data-driven decision-making processes, by working closely with stakeholders from the R&ED division. Responsibilities
Some of your core responsibilities would be to: Collaborate with stakeholders, including Researchers, Scientists, Product Owners, Project Managers, and Engineers, on regular basis to define system requirements to design solutions that align with organizational goals. Create fit for purpose architecture diagrams, incorporating scalability, reliability, security, and performance considerations in close collaboration with a Scientific Architect. Create and maintain living documentation, architectural artefacts and ensure that documentation remains up to date and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Continuously identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of architectural frameworks, principles and guidelines and methodologies by participating into Architecture CoP. Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Conduct code reviews, often but not as a primary focus, promote best practices and ensure adherence to architectural principles and design patterns. Help engineering teams by co-creating fit for purpose architecture, make recommendations on technology selection, considering factors such as resiliency, scalability, and maintainability in alignment with broader DD&IT defined best practices. Your focus would not be a single application necessarily but a gamut of applications being developed by multiple teams in the clusters. Collaborate closely with other Architects, such as Enterprise Architects, Information Architects and Scientific Architects. The skills we hope to see You find it important to ensure stable platforms and applications for our researchers, and at the same time you are excited to work with new technologies and can quickly learn new concepts. You are curious and enjoy engaging with various stakeholders across DD&IT and Research organization. You want to contribute to technical discussions on data flow, integrations, building interfaces, solution architecture in Modalities & Pharmacology area. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will have previous experience with the following: 4-5 years of experience as a Solution or System Architect. Experience in developing applications, integrations using APIs & Events and DevSecOps practices. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), microservices architecture, and containerization technologies. Detail-oriented mindset and with a mindset to coach and collaborate with various technical peers. Lastly, excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills while also being empathetic to the needs of our primary stakeholders: the researchers, data scientists and scientific architects Furthermore, you are team-oriented and have a strong personal drive to achieve goals. We expect you to be service-minded and thrive in a busy environment. Finally, you have professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
