During your internship, you will support our efforts in stem cell cultivation and differentiation of cardiomyocytes. We will provide you with a tailored onboarding program where you will support different in vitro assays for the production and cultivation of cardiomyocytes. You will participate in the daily work in the laboratory and interact with both technicians and scientists.
As part of the position, you will take part in organizing and maintaining laboratory consumables and equipment, including stock up of labs. In collaboration with department members, you will be involved in planning, executing, and evaluating experiments aiming to improve our differentiation protocols toward cardiomyocytes. Analytical methods in the research organization include flow cytometric assays, single-cell expression analyses, in vitro cell viability assays, and other in vitro molecular assays.
Practicalities: Internship period: 6 months (possibility to prolong for 6 additional months) Working hours: up to 37 hours per week (with flexible within your exam period) Start date: As soon as possible after August 2024. Location: Måløv, Denmark Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows A Danish full-time work permit is required Students must be enrolled at a university through the entire internship period. The working hours are flexible up to 37 hours a week enabling you to combine an internship with lectures at university, project work, or writing your Bachelor/Master’s thesis. Qualifications
You are an excellent student who is currently enrolled in your Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Human Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a similar field of study.
To succeed in this role, you have: Good understanding of molecular biology in general and cell culture of mammalian cells Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel (with supervision) Well-structured and diligent approach at work Outgoing personality with a strong personal drive and dedication Fluency and willingness to communicate in English Preference (nice to have): Hands-on experience with one or more of the following methods: flow cytometry, cell culture bioreactor experience, cell culture of pluripotent stem cells, imaging analyses for cell cultures, and bioinformatic data analysis. We are looking for an intern who is passionate about stem cell biology and molecular assays and can thrive in an innovative environment and brings a can-do attitude. You have a strong work ethic, are a good team player, and are willing to take responsibility for your own projects and progress. About the department
