Are you a seasoned platform engineer looking to make a real impact? Novo Nordisk is seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative Software Engineering Platforms Team SEP and help drive our software engineering platform, Heimdall, to new heights. This is your chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to life-changing projects. The Position You will be joining the Observability platform, enabling reliability and the fast flow of change for software development teams across all of Novo Nordisk. Your key responsibilities include: Platform Engineering: Plan, architect, design, code, and test software engineering platform capabilities. Collaborate with digital product teams to create innovative solutions and document best practices. Observability Focus: Implement and enhance observability capabilities using OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog to ensure comprehensive monitoring and visibility across the platform. Operational Stability: Work with Site Reliability Engineers to improve the platform's stability and reliability. Develop and enhance automation and CI/CD pipelines. Event, Problem, and Incident Management: Provide level 3 support for platform events and incidents. Implement, design, and test change requests and bug fixes. Qualifications We imagine the ideal candidate will posess most of the following requirements: BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 10+ years of software development experience. Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker. Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and/or AWS Cloud. Experience with large, complex back-end systems, high performance, low latency, and distributed architectures. Strong background in Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions, working agile and using Azure DevOps as an active planning and reporting tool. Understanding of software and cloud architecture. Experience with Open Source Software contributions and Security Engineering. Experience with Grafana configuration and setting up dashboards and alerts On a personal note, you are a respectful colleague and a proactive team player, recognized as a Subject Matter Expert. You are a curious, driven self-starter, able to maintain focus on business objectives. You communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and possess a strong business understanding, along with the ability to apply your expertise pragmatically. Additionally, you are proficient in English and have excellent listening and communication skills. About the department Software Engineering Platforms (SEP) is part of the Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) department - where we partner with the business to support digital transformation and innovation in all parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain.
