Breeding Specialist
Process Optimisation - Data Analysis - International Environment
Do you have a strong analytical mindset and want to contribute to ensuring a systematic and quality assured data flow in an innovative and multicultural growth company? As a Breeding Specialist at VikingGenetics, you will play a key role in establishing and developing the data processes that underpin the company's business efforts. You will be part of an organisation built on the core values of professionalism, quality, and high standards. At the same time, you will be a value-creating player in positioning the rapidly growing business area within the cross-breeding of beef cattle and dairy cattle (beef x dairy). An area that should ensure better meat quality and more climate-friendly livestock, thus contributing positively to the green transition and the farmer's economy. You will have a key position in further developing VikingGenetics' beef x dairy breeding programme.You will be part of a dynamic and professionally competent team, where you will be responsible for managing the data processes related to the organisation's beef cattle breeding programmes and reporting to the company's Genetic Development Manager. You will be tasked with systematising and managing breeding data in this context. You conduct continual analysis of available data. Also, you will establish a pipeline for the beef cattle segment while making agreements and maintaining dialogue with the company's suppliers of breeding data. In the innovative part of the position, there is a natural collaboration with VikingGenetics' R&D department.To succeed in the role, you will need to have a background in genetics and/or animal breeding, such as an agronomist or biostatistician. Also, it is a prerequisite that you have solid experience with similar tasks from a similar position. You will also have excellent IT skills, experience with R or similar and SQL coding, and a high-level proficiency in written and spoken English. As a person, you are characterised by your strong analytical skills and your good process understanding, and you thrive in a daily workflow that is characterised by the handling of large amounts of data. You are systematic, structured and quality-conscious, and your communication skills make you a valuable partner both internally and externally. At the same time, you are ambitious, tenacious and determined, and you approach your work tasks with great passion and curiosity. You also have a keen eye for optimisation and development opportunities, as well as the ability to operate at a high level of abstraction and with a great overview.
