Acoustics Engineers for Research & Development

Do you want to join a highly professional and fun development team in one of the world’s most famous loudspeaker manufacturers?

Dynaudio, the legendary Danish speaker maker, is looking for 2 new Acoustics Engineers for our R&D team at the HQ in Skanderborg.

About the jobs

Depending on your knowledge and experience you will be working either with development of speaker drivers, or with the overall acoustic design of our loudspeakers.

One role will be leading and contributing to the development of loudspeaker systems in Dynaudio with the focus on driver/speaker design and measurement systems.

The other one will be leading and contributing to the development of loudspeaker systems with the focus on cabinets/baffle/crossover(passive) design and measurement systems.

For both roles these, other responsibilities include:

  • Contributing with highly skilled acoustical knowledge to the tasks in the running product projects.
  • Being an active and leading part in technology development process.
  • Securing proper use of scientific methods and documentation for acoustical development.
  • Ensuring that proper benchmark processes are kept and overseeing the measurements and documentation of all existing products.
  • Assisting the Project Managers and other Engineers in ensuring the correct acoustical performance of our products.
  • Being an active part of developing the acoustical competence at Dynaudio e.g. on methods, processes and new technologies.

About the department

We’re a team of 3 colleagues (soon to be 5) ensuring the optimal development and design of best-in-class speakers. We each have our strengths and main responsibilities but we get nowhere without each other. We are a part of the R&D department in Dynaudio consisting of around 30 colleagues in Denmark and more colleagues in China. Everyone in Dynaudio is a part of the final product and we focus on cooperation and treating each other professionally.

About you

You hold a B.Sc. or an M.Sc. in Electronics/Mechanics Engineering specialising in acoustics and you have at least 5 years’ experience with product development, preferably from the audio industry.

You know how to perform acoustic measurements and simulations, and you are well versed in MATLAB/Python programming.

Prior experience with (or desire and ability to learn) COMSOL Multiphysics at user level is preferred.

You understand the basic design of loudspeakers. Knowledge of DSP technology is an important plus for one of the roles, whereas candidates with knowledge of material science will be preferred for the other one.

For both roles we expect that you are a dedicated team player with a good sense of humour and a skilled communicator who understands that no one creates success by themselves.

You have a pioneering mindset with the ability to start projects from scratch, while at the same time thriving in a workday characterised by multiple projects and stakeholders. You welcome flexibility in your workday, and that is what you can also expect to get in return.

English is our main company language, so you’ll need to be comfortably fluent in both writing and speaking it too.

About what we offer

An exciting job in an international company with good professional and personal development opportunities, and where you influence the company´s further development.

You’ll have a chance to listen to the music you love on some truly amazing speakers (including getting the opportunity to buy them at a pleasing discount), and even get to see behind the scenes on how they’re made, tested and designed in-house at the factory.

The salary is negotiated individually at a level that corresponds to the position requirements and your qualifications.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Chief Technology Officer Jens Lynge Petersen via [email protected] or +45 40 10 33 68.
