Praktik - Skanderborg
Are you looking for an opportunity to add FPGA-and VHDL capabilities to your professional skill set? Do you possess a solid understanding of software programming and digital electronics? Are you curious, self-driven and persistent in finding solutions? Do you want to master an absolute key element in contemporary and future high-speed digital processing?
Become a part of our Technology Function
Kamstrup is a Danish technology company, which was founded in 1946 with employees in more than 20 countries and headquarters in Stilling south of Aarhus. We believe no one should have to question their access to clean water or the prospect of a sustainable energy future. Our smart metering solutions empower utilities and societies to reduce water loss and increase energy efficiency by providing them with the insight to act and the data to target their efforts.
As an Engineering Intern, you will join our RF Communication development team within the Hardware Technology function. You will be on equal footing with engineers, civil engineers, technicians, and PhDs in an interdisciplinary development group, where you will contribute to developing and forming future wireless communication systems for remote reading of consumption meters. The department is characterised by a good work environment in which freedom, responsibility, and personal development are in focus.
An internship with focus on embedded software
The internship is an opportunity for the candidate to receive a focused FGPA developer experience, particularly in such areas as:
• Designing and structuring behavioural and RTL HDL modules.
• Programming in VHDL 2008
• Simulating with Modelsim DE
• Synthesizing with Xilinx VIVADO design suite
• Verification in target FPGA
Kamstrup will provide an FPGA evaluation board with a range of user interaction possibilities, a catalogue of ideas for the candidate to pick from and the support required for the candidate to execute. The candidate is encouraged to contribute with his/her own suggestions to define a better motivated internship, to help ensure that we make the full circle of FPGA development disciplines and achieve a proper technical depth in the project deliveries.
Personality matters
We are looking for an ambitious candidate with a solid understanding of general software programming and digital electronics. The right candidate must have a solid understanding of general software programming and digital electronics. Possessing a healthy technical curiosity and a self-driven yes-can-do attitude are important drivers for your successful internship. As a person, you are driven by creating a difference by analysing problems based on facts. You appreciate collaboration and professional sparring with your colleagues. You pride yourself on being flexible in your work with different projects and systems.
As we are an international company, it is a requirement that you master English both written and orally. Danish will be an advantage.
We offer more than just an internship
We offer a challenging internship in an international and professional environment where you will be responsible for specific tasks and projects, and where you can translate your theoretical knowledge into practical experience. Through professional sparring with experienced colleagues, you will get the chance to strengthen your competencies within embedded software development.
At Kamstrup, we focus a lot on the social relations between our Interns across the organization and if you are ready, we offer you an exciting autumn with great challenges and teamwork.
