General Manager, Demant Hearing Aid Export


Picture yourself as responsible for all hearing aid distributor markets in a world-leading company within hearing healthcare. Your mission is to enable and drive growth for Demant’s distributor business across our different hearing aid brands, driving growth in a truly global context to all countries where the Demant Group does not have their own sales companies today.

The role as General Manager

To maintain and strengthen the market position and market share across multiple different geographies and different hearing aid brands, we are looking for an experienced leader with a 10-15 years successful track record of driving commercial strategy in an international context. To be successful in this role you have solid experience with leading a multi-brand/multi-product sales organization, and ideally from a global role in the medical device/pharma/life-science industry.

We expect you to formulate and drive an overall commercial strategy in alignment with headquarters in Denmark, and that you can communicate clearly and naturally your point and directions. You are an engaging leader, very strong in relationship building and a confident decision-maker, who make sure to have the team on-board. You keep your eye on key sales and profit targets to ensure that they are met, while helping the organization and its people perform and develop.

The role also requires you to engage actively with key external stakeholders such as customers, local authorities, industry associations etc. to enhance the group’s image and thereby contribute to making Demant a preferred partner.

Your leadership is key to our success together

You will lead an engaged organization and be a role model for others to follow. The team is primarily based in Denmark and Switzerland and consists of 6-8 direct reports, representing the different hearing aid brands and different support functions. We expect that you can create a climate where people are motivated to do their best, and that you gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty and integrity. You will be directly responsible for an organization of 15-20 employees, handling more than 200 distributors in countries all over the world in different cultures and businesses. The position will be based at our headquarter in Denmark in a suburb to Copenhagen.

Our environment is complex, so you build effective networks, both inside and outside the organization, through an open communication style and approachable attitude among your peers and stakeholders. Needless to say, you will also help others balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders, and sometimes, conflicting interests.

As we are working in a global set up, you should work effortlessly in English on all levels. In case you master other languages, this will be considered an advantage.

A summary of what we will be looking for from candidates

  • A modern, motivational and delegating leader, experienced in leading cross-cultural and cross-border teams
  • Proven track-record of sales & marketing through distributors and dealer networks
  • Broad and long-time management experience from international commercial / technical business with the ability to acquaint oneself with technical products
  • Highly experienced in sales strategy development and implementation
  • Excellent communicator both oral and written
  • Skilled at establish and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Convincing, strategic and simultaneously a hands-on type in possession of power and energy, someone who enjoys the constant development and improvement of the area and fast execution

  • Positive, empathetic and a team-player who can focus on his/her own organizational goals, while at the same time thinking holistic and contributing positively to the overall development of the Demant Hearing Aid Export organization.
