Instructional Designer
As our new Instructional Designer, you will be part of the Digital Learning team within the Global Training Department currently consisting of four dedicated colleagues. The team plays a key role in driving our business forward by delivering state-of-the-art digital learning solutions. This ensures that the DEMANT Hearing Group organizations globally are equipped with appealing educational content for an internal audience which enable them to meet our customers and sell DEMANT solutions in a professional and compelling manner.
The Job
Taking on this job, you will be a key part of an agile working team dedicated to delivering high quality digital and virtual learning content to an international audience.
You will have a key role in producing and delivering state-of-the-art learning solutions with a commercial approach and impact.
Your role will be multifaceted, and you will have the opportunity to work with everything from creating compelling digital learning content, learning strategies and developing and administrating learning platforms.
You will be a driving force in developing new and exciting learning formats for our internal and external audiences. And you will be responsible for training our international trainers globally in new learning technology and support them in adding value to their training using digital learning formats.
As DEMANT is a truly international group, versioning will also be a focus point for the Instructional Designer.
Main Tasks and responsibilities
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.
- Launch, administer, maintain, and continuously improve our learning management technologies, course authoring tools and additional learning distribution software.
- Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs.
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
- Apply proven learning theories, practice and methods to deliver training with clear business impact.
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.).
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and apply assessment instruments.
- Proactively promote learning technology in the training team, helping trainers develop training programs and learning interventions using digital learning technology.
- Drive the design and implementation of learning technology solutions in DEMANTs sales companies, facilitating design and onsite implementation of workflows and best practices, whenever needed.
The Candidate
- Experience with the design, development, and implementation of digital learning solutions.
- Experience and keen knowledge in the latest learning technologies.
- A commercial understanding of digital learning impact
- Well-versed in the theory and practice of designing and developing adult learning with an understanding of eLearning standards including SCORM, AICC, and xAPI.
- Solid experience in relating technology’s potential to improve pedagogic approaches and secure maximal learning outcomes.
- Strong ability to analyze existing programs for gaps and improvement opportunities then develop and implement strategies to drive clear business impact.
- Strong communication and influencing skills as well as experience working with cross-functional and external partners.
- Deep experience designing and developing learning programs across delivery mediums and content types (mobile learning, e-learning, video, gamification, virtual learning, live simulation, and live classroom).
- Proven experience designing and developing scalable, engaging, online training.
- Skillset within the digital learning field is deeply founded in a profound interest in technology as means of learning delivery and a curiosity towards learning technology.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and diverse experience working with internal customers and stakeholders in both live and virtual environments.
- Proven ability to clearly articulate complex concepts in simple terms is essential.
- Have strong project management skills.
- Experience with modern eLearning authoring tools and LMS’s and LXP’s (e.g iSpring, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360 Suite, Success Factors, FUSE, etc.) and various virtual meeting management tools such as MS Teams.
- Working knowledge and application experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Captivate, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and other industry benchmark applications and online multimedia authoring tools.
- HTML5, xAPI, mobile learning, and adaptive learning experience.
