Our Group legal & compliance team
As our new legal compliance counsel in Demant you will become part of the global Group Legal & Compliance function consisting of 36 highly skilled and motivated lawyers around the world, who are all dedicated to help the business succeed. The Legal & compliance team in Denmark supports the top management and all of Demant’s brands, including Oticon, Audika, Philips and EPOS.
What to expect
We are looking for an ambitious colleague to play an important role in shaping the future of our compliance framework. You will be part of a small Group compliance team who is passionate about business ethics and legal compliance. We are on a journey to develop, grow and mature our Group compliance program. You will report to Legal Compliance Manager. The tone is informal and your input will be valued and encouraged. You will also be part of the larger Group Legal & Compliance team with highly skilled and fun colleagues in both Denmark and around the world.
Your work tasks will be very diverse, and your qualifications and interests will be taken into consideration as much as possible. Your role will be proactive and you will be given an independent agenda to drive. You will be close to the decision-making processes in Demant and you are working closely together with the business. You will be meeting clients directly and support the Demant Group globally with your advice. You will have the opportunity to work independently and put your fingerprint on a challenging but important agenda. You will refer to Legal Compliance Manager and be situated in Smørum, Denmark.
You can look forward to a truly diverse and challenging working day, where you will encounter a variety of tasks, including:
- Building a trade compliance program, including country of origin, export control and sanctions compliance
- Supporting key stakeholders with advice on various compliance matters and assist developing and maturing the compliance program, including training and developing e-learning
- Sparring with the business in a broad variety of legal compliance matters, including on various compliance regulation, investigations, conflict handling, etc.
- Assisting in developing policies and procedures and with implementation across Demant Group’s multiple jurisdictions
- Working with the network of business ethics champions across the Demant group
When carrying out your tasks, you will work with colleagues across all business units and all affiliates. You will work cross functional and truly global. You will also work with external advisors. You will obtain an in-depth understanding of Demant’s business. A limited amount of travelling can be expected.
Your qualifications include that you have
- A degree in law (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or equivalent)
- Some years of’ experience from either a lawfirm or as in-house counsel
- A good understanding of compliance broadly (regulation and how to build and drive compliance in a company)
- The ability to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of legal and compliance advice
- Strong interpersonal skills and a good interaction with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management
- Excellent English proficiency as this is the Demant Group corporate language
