We are looking for a Director with strong leadership skills and extensive digital and commercial expertise. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an important growth driver for Novo Nordisk.
About the department
We know that people using our medicinal products and devices do not always reach desired treatment goals – as there for the person in managing a chronic disease are so many things to think of. We believe that digital solutions for diabetes, obesity and other serious chronic diseases can make it easier to start using a medicine, remember to take the dose, get the dose right – and much more, thereby reducing the burden on the person and improving treatment outcomes. The Commercial Digital Lighthouse will via deployment of agile methodologies develop, pilot and launch digital solutions, starting with building solutions for people living with obesity. The Director will lead a team of 9 people with business and IT background, will report to the Corporate Vice President of Commercial Innovation and will work intimately with colleagues across Commercial Innovation Brand Teams and Operations.
The position
In this role, you will lead a large scale digital transformation within Novo Nordisk’s Commercial organization and the company’s Operations. You will be leading in-house ideation, development, piloting and launch of Healthcare Professional (HCPs) and patient-facing digital solutions, supporting all Novo Nordisk’s therapy areas.
To succeed, you will develop strong relationships and secure engagement with key stakeholders, internally and externally. Proactive communication and close collaboration with teams and stakeholders across the organisation is a key success factor for this role!
Key areas of responsibility
- Deliver according to the use-cases as approved by the Digital Health Steering Committee
- Partnering with Brand Teams to align software solutions to Therapy Area Strategies and market needs
- Set strategic direction for the Commercial Digital Lighthouse, by driving in-house development of software solutions to be used by patients and HCPs globally
- Develop strategy for use-cases and present use-cases for approval to the Digital Health Steering Committee
- Continuously be in dialogue with stakeholders relevant to each use-case, and be able to adapt as new business challenges emerge or new user needs are identified
- Set direction for future resourcing to secure that the Lighthouse meet commercial needs
- Ensure a broad Commercial Innovation involvement in the solution development, in particular Patient Support Solutions, anthropologists and Digital Health
- Act as in- and external spokesperson for the Lighthouse concept, communicating about both the product value potential, and the cultural shift enabled through new ways of working
Qualifications
- Demonstrated pharma / scientific / business accomplishments, particularly within project execution or driving strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise and deep understanding of patient and HCP needs in the management of chronic disease and how digital solutions can cater for these
- Experience with agile methodology, e.g. SCRUM
- Strong understanding of data collection, data transformation, data analysis and data reporting within the pharmaceutical industry
- Preferably, understanding of pharmacovigilance requirements and Software As Medical Device regulations (as the Lighthouse must avoid SaMD solutions)
- Experience from relevant commercial or R&D areas
