We are looking for a HW/SW engineer to join our R&D department in the Electromechanics division.

The Electromechanics division is working with development and manufacturing of medical devices where HW, SW and mechanical technologies work together to make medical devices that improve the life of patients and make the daily work for clinicians and doctors around the world better every day. Our main products are within tissue collection for breast cancer diagnostics and devices for continuous drug delivery. We work with global partners in the development and distribution of the products we develop.
Our team
You will be part of a highly skilled team of R&D engineers located in Denmark and a small R&D team in Poland. The team is involved in all tasks related to development of new medical devices as well as supporting existing medical devices. Your working place will be in Søborg, Denmark from where you also will work closely other departments in Ferrosan Medical Devices, Electromechanics. Also, working in close collaboration with customers is an essential part of the job.
Main responsibilities and duties
You will be owner of HW & SW development, design and documentation for the new products we are working on. This include PCB design with component selection and MCU selection and programming in C or C++. You will also assist in conducting various R&D engineering tests related to new and existing products. You handle production support in HW/SW issues related to specific products.
Finally, you will be involved in customer communication on product specific HW/SW questions and you will have supplier dialog on PCB manufacturing and HW component selection.
Qualifications and skills
You are fluent in English, both written and oral and have a Technical University degree in engineering (M.Sc.) in Mechatronics or Electronics.
You have at least 3 years of experience at similar position (preferably in the medical devices industry). Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, ICE 62366 and ISO 60601 standards is a strong benefit.

Finally, you have an analytical mindset with ability to find new solutions. You have quality awareness with regards to documentation of tasks and solutions and you are open minded for working with people from different culture and educational background.

As a person you work independent and you plan your own time while being an active team member in our development projects. You are dedicated to meeting your deliverables on time with the right level of quality. It is expected that you will be the expert in your area of competence and can contribute to the overall success of the products we are developing. Travel to our facility in Szczecin, Poland and to customers (mainly USA) and suppliers should be expected as well.

- Solid knowledge of digital/analog circuit design, simulation and verification
- Solid knowledge of PCB design preferably in Altium Designer
- Knowledge of brushed/brushless DC motors and motor driver design could be considered as an advantage.
- Knowing power electronics solutions like battery charging/management, DC-DC converters, and wireless power transmission will be a plus.
Software:
- Solid knowledge of embedded programming in C or C++
- Solid knowledge of embedded programming/debugging on microcontrollers based on ARM Cortex-M architecture.
- Solid understanding and preferably experience with RTOS
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink design and simulation of controller models is preferred.
