The position As a Global Market Access Director, you will be responsible for leading the market access strategy for one of our unique future obesity assets. You will drive activities to understand the future payer environment, define requirements and set a clear access direction for the Global and Commercial project team to secure fast and sustainable access. You’ll lead development of innovative and state-of-the-art tools/materials and communication, incl. training, to effectively define and communicate the value of our products to payers. You will forefront a strong focus on navigating the payer environment to advance market access strategies to drive optimal access and set a strong direction for our future success in Obesity. You will be the informal lead of matrix access teams and you will closely collaborate with other Global functions across the value chain. Further, you will engage proactively with the broader market access network of stakeholders in Operations to deliver best-in-class access strategies and support during the different phases of the development/life-cycle management.
Your main tasks will include:
• Oversee and partner on the strategic and operational execution of market access strategies and achievement of team as well as organizational goals across payer channels
• Market access point of contact for specific Obesity assets and overall responsible for the timely progression and follow-up on cross-functional access projects
• Represent the Obesity market access team in relevant governance teams i.e. Global and Commercial project teams
• Lead the global access strategy across the development and life-cycle management phases incl. external payer engagements, value and payer engagement tools and materials as well as implementation across the organisation
• Guide teams and stakeholders on strategic and constructive payer direction and communication into development project teams and key fora’s and overall drive market access strategy for the future obesity market
• Identify payer environment trends, their implications and solutions for access strategies within Obesity You will collaborate with other global functions and stakeholders across the value chain, partner proactively with the broader market access network of stakeholders in Operations and seek external access counseling to deliver best-in-class Global Access strategies and to provide Global support during the development, pre-launch and lifecycle management process.
Qualifications To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate has:
• Strategic and operational experience from both global, regional and/or affiliate market access roles
• Comprehensive market access experience either from a pharmaceutical industry and/or a consultancy company
• A high degree of business and industry insight, and solid experience with setting the direction and the strategy in a complex and changing area
• Modern collaboration mindset incorporating empathy, reflectiveness and authenticity into the day-to-day engagements
• Excellent project and stakeholder management skills
• Deep level of TA knowledge is preferred but not a requirement
• An academic background in a relevant field (life sciences, economics, public health science, or similar) and fluency in English

You have a high degree of ambition and personal drive and ability to work both independently as well as get things done collaboratively with pace. About the department The Global Obesity Market Access department within Novo Nordisk is part of the Obesity Therapy Area and drives the Global market access strategies for our Obesity portfolio. The Global Obesity Market Access team sets the payer direction for Novo Nordisk’s future drug portfolio within Obesity as well as and drive pre-launch and launch activities in close collaboration with regions and affiliates.
