For our client RSP Systems A/S we are looking for an experienced Data Analysis Specialist to strengthen their development efforts. RSP Systems is a Danish medical technology company focused on developing a truly non-invasive blood glucose meter based on Raman spectroscopy. RSP Systems are striving to bring painless glucose monitoring to people all over the world.

You will be a part of their world-class team of engineers and specialists, serious about science and committed to quality. You will work with ground-breaking technology in a committed, smaller company with close collaboration. In the data science department, there are five dedicated colleagues”, there are five dedicated colleagues – a director, three data scientists and one research scientist. You will be in control of your own day and be challenged daily by your colleagues.

About the job

As Data Analysis Specialist you will bring innovative thinking, analytical rigor, and statistical methods to the challenges of measuring blood glucose non-invasively. As part of the data analysis team, you will:

  • Evaluate and improve algorithms predicting blood glucose levels based on Raman spectroscopic in vivo data from patients
  • Develop models and apply these to calibrate and evaluate Raman spectroscopic systems
  • Develop standardization and/or calibration transfer techniques. Perform experiments to validate prototype systems, as documentation of this will be of profound importance for an approval process of the market device.
  • Aid to development of next generation devices providing insights to the hardware and software developers

Your profile

You have +2 years of relevant applied experience with a M.Sc. or Ph.D. preferable in computer science, mathematics, or statistics, specialized within chemometrics, machine learning, statistics and data mining, and secondarily chemistry, physics, food science, or similar.

You are a self-starter, yet a strong team player, with an innovative spirit and a drive to make a difference. Preferably, you have a strong understanding of mathematics, computer science and statistics including data mining. Especially, we are looking for a person with experience within multivariate methods, machine learning and artificial intelligence. It will be an advantage if you have experience within interpretation of spectroscopic data, chemometrics, fundamental physics and engineering principles.

Moreover, the ideal candidate will have experience with following:

  • Data analysis of spectroscopic data from chemical or biological systems
  • Interpretation of spectroscopic data and their influence on calibration models
  • Pre-processing of data (EMSC, 2nd derivative, smoothing etc.)
  • Model-building (calibration, validation, and prediction)
  • Advanced use of Python or similar
  • Knowledge on machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Theoretical understanding of spectroscopy (fluorescence/Raman/absorption)
  • Documentation of methods, results, and tests - external to e.g., notified bodies as well as internal in RSP Systems quality system.
