Your background

  • Mechanical or similar Engineering Degree
  • 10-15 years of experience from an operator within North Sea
  • Expert understanding well design software and SAP.
  • Extended reach drilling experience with proven delivery
  • Mastery in designing complex wells
  • Mastery in Drilling Engineering Design softwares
  • IWCF Level 4 or above qualified
  • Proficiency in oral and written English

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Drilling Engineer in the Engineering & Operations team of the Drilling & Wells department, you will be responsible for overseeing the upcoming drilling campaigns with one explo and two infill wells in 2024. Your role will be to provide an optimum well design, plan, program, and support execution to deliver them safely and within schedule and budget. You will ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities and compliance with Total Company Rules, best industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will support the management and development of Well Site Engineers.

Overall, you have the responsibility of ensuring that operational risks are assessed and that necessary measures taken to mitigate operational risks and that contingencies have been evaluated and implemented.

In addition, these areas of responsibilities will include tasks such as:

  • Drive HSE performance in accordance with TotalEnergies Group objectives, demonstrate HSE leadership, and promote a safety culture with the team and service providers.
  • Ensure that health, safety, and environmental risks are assessed and necessary measures are taken to mitigate safety and health risks according to the ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practical) principle.
  • Deliver according to the SOR Well Delivery Process, ensure IOP updated, execute DWOP / readiness review, set-up reporting systems, SAP, and provide probabilistic time/cost estimation.
  • Ensure regulatory permits are in place and followed, operational risks are assessed, and necessary measures are taken to mitigate operational risks, and contingencies have been evaluated and implemented.
