Job Description

The Human Resource Director – North America will be the partner for the Senior Leadership Team for the region, a change agent for transformation, and help to deliver key changes within HR across the business. You will need to be a hands-on, and forward-thinking HR Director and help progress the HR function to the next level. You will support the HR teams in country to transform against the HR roadmap and deliver excellence to the business.

Summary:

IFS North America seeks a versatile and driven Human Resources Director responsible for providing HR-related thought leadership as well as guiding Human Resources services, policies, and programs in North American (US and Canada). This person will work closely with Business Unit Leadership teams to deliver integrated and innovative HR solutions to support the growth ambitions of the Business Units and the broader enterprise. Ensure Company guidelines are met for State, Federal and Provincial compliance, and employment standards. Serve as a resource on HR related issues, including corporate policy interpretation, and legal compliance for Human Resources initiatives in the USA and Canada.

Qualifications

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administer Human Resources initiatives throughout all locations and departments. Function as lead for HR projects, periodic tasks, and management reporting.
  • Proactively develop and maintain effective employee relations in a professional, consistent, and fair manner through a hands-on and collaborative approach. Provide guidance and counsel to the HR and/or management team on employee relations and employee leave of absence matters.
  • Ensure adherence to performance management processes across the business units, providing support and training on the process to Managers as required.
  • Works with Managers and employees to ensure effective Employee Development Plans are in place and executed for appropriate employees.
  • Be a champion of the HR model, identifying areas of improvement, and taking leadership and ownership for delivery. Partner effectively with the respective unit HR leads to ensure focus on key priorities and to help deliver proactive, measurable, repeatable, and timely solutions.
  • Be a change agent and partner with the leadership teams to drive operational and cultural shifts needed to achieve key priorities. Identify and address opportunities for greater efficiency, effectiveness, agility, and standardization that is consistent with the business strategy.
  • Inspire and lead a team that operates with a sense of urgency, proactively solves problems, is collaborative and consultative, and can effectively balance the requirements of the business unit and the broader group, acting as integrators and connectors between the units.
  • Include staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement; make self-available to staff; provide regular performance coaching; and develop subordinates’ skills and encourage growth.
  • Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required.

Overall Required Competence

  • Must have breadth and depth in human capital management experience.
  • Prior acquisition experience, including hands-on experience with both due diligence and post-merger integration activities.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizational change and effectiveness, talent management in a performance driven culture.
  • Must have the ability to negotiate, build credibility and influence with various stakeholders
  • Have strong employment law knowledge across region and be able to deal with complex casework.

Required Education & Experience

  • 5 years’ Human Resource management experience
  • A 4-year college degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Psychology, or a related discipline; or equivalent in knowledge and experience is required. Master’s degree in human resources management or MBA preferred.
