Nordisk Games is a business unit within Nordisk Film, which is 100% owned by the Egmont Foundation. We invest in European game studios targeting global consumers. We are fueling the growing games industry that is driven by highly experienced game creators, innovators, and business developers. Our current portfolio counts 8 companies in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, UK, and Spain. We have so far invested about EUR 200m and expect to invest much more in the coming years. We’ve made it our mission to fund, support and challenge the creators of the most fantastic form of entertainment ever devised by mankind. Our expected outcome? The best games in the world. A lot of fun. And some great financial results in the end.
Responsibility for this position
You will become part of a small, dynamic business unit consisting of 14 team members. We are a very experienced team of games industry experts and M&A, finance, and post-merger experts. We have a flat structure where we help each other, and you will be exposed to a broad range of tasks from different stakeholders.
Nordisk Games is pointed out as one of the growth areas within Egmont, our project flow is increasing and so is the need for thorough analysis and presentations. You will have a key role in making the first draft of these, and in addition, you will also be screening for new targets, assist on transactions, and work with analysis of current companies. Over time you will take over more and more responsibilities.
Projects and tasks for this position include (but are not limited to):
- Preparation of business cases, DCF and company valuations
- Assisting on M&A processes, potential project management
- Analysing games and competitors to our portfolio companies
- Scouting/structured screening with first-step business analysis
- Assisting with Investment Application writing
- Preparation of presentations and decks
- Assist with business development analysis
- Support commercial due diligence
- Support portfolio companies with analysis
Who are you?
We are looking for a skilled team player with a few years of experience within M&A, valuation or other related functions and preferable you play games and have knowledge about the games industry. You have strong analytical skills combined with excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills; you know how to read and understand financial statements and information memorandums, and you have experience with performing detailed business cases. As we are a Nordic company it is preferred that you are fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages, as well as English, both written and verbal. Additionally, you hold a relevant master’s degree (cand.polit, cand.oecon, cand.merc. or similar)
On a personal level you are structured, good to prioritise your time and able to keep many plates spinning at the same time. You are willing to learn at a fast pace, do not mind working with a broad number of tasks and can navigate with many different stakeholders.
