The position
As Vice President of GCM DS Projects, you will lead a team of around 10-15 people focusing on our project portfolio of Drug Substance projects at CMOs around the world. In GCM DS we have the responsibility for the production, the facility including all equipment and the Quality Management System (QMS) at the Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO).
In this position, you will: Be responsible for managing and developing the area to support a growing pipeline of projects within Drug Substance Ensure good collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders Ensure our projects are delivered on time meeting the critical milestones together with other colleagues in both GCM DS, Novo Nordisk and at our CMOs Join a fantastic team of dedicated colleagues in the leadership team, who all are working dedicated to bringing external capabilities to life You will become the leader of a well-functioning team where we work and solve problems in collaboration. Several of the CMOs we currently work with are in project phase and we expect several new projects being initiated within the next 12 months.
You will report directly to the CVP of Global Contract Manufacturing for Drug Substance and be part of the leadership team of dedicated experts within the field working and taking part in forming GCM DS’s strategy and organisation. In the leadership team we have an environment where collaboration and room for different opinions are appreciated, as well as having a good time.
As our CMO’s are placed all around the world, you should expect approximately 20-30 days of travel per year. Qualifications To be considered for this position, we expect you to have: At least a master’s degree in pharmaceutical, chemistry, engineering, or any other relevant education A minimum of 15 years of experience working with Drug Substance production or similar within the pharmaceutical industry Experience from working with pharmaceutical projects and knowledge with project models, governance etc. 10 years of leadership experience A fluency in English, both written and spoken It would be considered as a plus if you have worked with external manufacturing and maybe at a CMO.

Global Contract Manufacturing for Drug Substance (GCM DS) is a unit in Novo Nordisk Product Supply organization and is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s operation of global manufacturing of drug substances at contract manufacturers. Our main office is in Søborg, Denmark. The primary role of GCM DS is to establish, monitor, support, and control the production handled by CMOs.
