. The position A s our new trusted colleague in Global Engineering Sourcing your working day could look like this : You have a great start of the day reading a mail from one of your key suppliers informing you about a new packaging or assembly machine which will be 15% more efficient however using new technology. You give the supplier a call to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages with the technology offered. Afterwards it is time for the daily team touchpoint where you have a power break session with stretching exercises. Besides of moving your body a little, you look very much forward to catch up with your colleagues and share the exciting news you received this morning. Since the team constantly is scouting for new technologies that can drive the future, new findings and trends are shared and discussed. Thereafter you have a meeting with a supplier that recently installed a new packaging or assembly machine at one of our existing production facilities. The project owner from that Novo Nordisk site is also joining and is not satisfied with the work that has been performed as capacity on the machine is 10% below requirements. The supplier is very surprised as they tested the functionality as part of the site acceptance test. As the bridge between the external supplier and our internal customers you manage to calm both parties down and agree with the supplier to send a team at the earliest possible time to determine what is causing the lack of performance. Afterwards you work on maintaining data within your category including making and/or updating frame agreements which is a recurrent activity. You round off the day with your quarterly cross functional category team to discuss latest trends in the company. Based on the discussion there seems to be an unfavorable price development and hence you decide to block your calendar to do some analysis later this week regarding the price development in your top three subcategories by spend. As our new colleague your main responsibilities will be: Responsibility for a category group, which implies driving a cross-functional group with technical experts and project managers to capture latest and future trends in the category strategy The category covers equipment and services necessary to construct and maintain production sites and other Novo Nordisk facilities One-point-of-contact for specific suppliers and internal customers with purchasing needs from your category Constantly optimising processes, sourcing and/or supplier relationships Tender and contract handling for large investment projects Qualifications You have relevant work experience within procurement or trading of minimum 8 years You are curious to expanding your knowledge within sourcing and supply chain disciplines as well as technical topics You have some process optimisation experience along with cross functional leadership skills and ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels You are fully proficient in English You have excellent stakeholder management skills as you will have interactions on senior level within Novo Nordisk and up to CEO level within the supply base About the department As a key business function, we execute significant procurement activities in order to ensure optimum procurement in large scale capital projects world-wide every day. We purchase construction work and buildings, critical production equipment, automation systems, robots and engineering services, representing a significant billion DKK spend every year. Furthermore, the department create and maintain frame agreements and service level agreements with multiple suppliers to cover ad hoc purchases as well as planned and unplanned repair/maintenance of the buildings and production equipment.
