Procurement Manager, Feedstock Sourcing

Take lead on new strategic and commercial partnerships

The Procurement Manager, Feedstock Sourcing will lead all sourcing activities of industrial feedstocks, including organic waste and residues from agriculture and processing companies for the portfolio of Nature Energy biogas plants in the US. You leverage your existing relationships and network, with a constant focus on building new partnerships with potential feedstock suppliers across all relevant markets.

In close collaboration with a team of biological experts and business developers, you take the lead in the screening process for the identification of feedstock potential for new biogas plants for the Nature Energy portfolio. Together with the international procurement team, you drive knowledge sharing and make sure to utilize international opportunities – also in a cross-market context.

Job Duties

• Develop and execute on feedstock sourcing strategy for the US market
• Identify potential partners and negotiate partnership agreements for the supply of organic waste and residues
• Negotiate contracts on feedstocks for biogas plants
• Identify new sources of feedstocks, residues, and organic waste streams for use in biogas
• Develop efficient supply chains, including solutions for logistics, storage
• Register relevant feedstock data for reporting
• Ensure financial targets are met on feedstock sourcing
• Maintain data register for sustainability, quality, and regulatory reporting
• Coordinate feedstocks with operations and biological team
• Oversee logistics of feedstocks from the source to the biogas plant

Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform market screening for new business development and new sites for biogas plants
• Responsible for the procurement contribution to the maturation of new projects through the NE the gate model
• Prepare forecast of feedstock sourcing
• Support the development and local execution of sustainability targets in Procurement

Experienced buyer and negotiator with excellent interpersonal skills

The candidate we are looking for needs to be an experienced buyer and negotiator with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a sourcing-related job. The candidate will also need to have a proven track record of building new supply chains and strategic collaborations.

A lot of this job has to do with building relationships; therefore, you must possess the highest level of interpersonal skills and be a strong communicator on all levels, from the board room to the farm.

Additional Skills

• Strong analytical capacity and experience with data handling
• Highly organized and self-directed individual who can confidently manage many tasks simultaneously and work with necessary internal resources to support the projects
• Driver’s license

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to lead teams, motivate, and adopt the corporate culture, and develop relationships with multiple constituents to deliver on large-scale projects
• Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of documents and presentations for varied audiences (board and executive team, counterparties, and other external stakeholders).
• High level of comfort with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Language skills could very well include French

Supervisory Responsibility

Initially, YOU are the (US) team, but we look for candidates with the potential to lead the procurement team as it will grow as the portfolio of plants increases.

Travel

This position requires travel to Nature Energy HQ (Denmark) and frequent regional travel (US) to relevant suppliers

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Prolonged periods sitting in a car driving between stakeholders, sites, etc.

Prolonged periods sitting in an airplane for business travel etc.

Work Environment

Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. This job operates in a professional office environment and to some extent home based.
