Description
Thales has been involved in Danish projects since 1991 and has established a formal country office in Denmark since January 2015 with the main office located in Søborg. Today, Thales in Nordic and Baltic countries (Thales-NBCO) employs approx. 1200 people (among which 700 coming from Gemalto).
Locally, Thales provides innovative solutions and advanced technologies within Defence, Ground Transportations and Air Traffic Management.
In 2012, Banedanmark (BDK), the Danish rail infrastructure, awarded a consortium composed of Thales and Strukton Rail with a contract to upgrade the Signaling system in Jutland, the Western part of Denmark (approx. 1.200 km of the Danish railway network) to the new European ETCS Level 2 system. Since then, Thales in Denmark has been working on the design and building of the system in close cooperation with Strukton Rail and Thales peers in Germany. Internally, the program is called the ‘F-Bane West program’ and deployment phase will be followed by a maintenance phase by 2023.
We are currently looking for a Roll Out Line Delivery Project Manager to join Thales Denmark A/S. The role is full-time and permanent. The overall delivery programme is divided into 12 roll out lines each forming its own project. Reporting to the General Program Manager, the ROL Delivery Project Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of all activities of the Thales-Strukton consortium for the on-time delivery of a specific Roll Out Line (engineering, installation, test and commissioning, safety approval).
We imagine that you are an experienced delivery/project manager and if you have experience from signalling and rail projects it is a plus. With your background and experience as delivery/project manager you will have a unique opportunity to take on a key role in successfully delivering the project.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Overall management and coordination of all Thales-Strukton activities for rollout line
Prepare, develop and manage the Schedule for rollout line
Manage Risks and Opportunities, and changes to the project scope
Collaborate and manage interfaces towards Costumer and departments of the program
Coordinate internal resources and third parties
Ensure resource availability and allocation
Ensure compliancy with the contract and Thales process
Facilitate solving of technical, quality and cooperation issues
Ensure reporting on progress and issues
Maintain key results and performance metrics
Support improvement plans
Report and escalate to management as needed
Experience and skills
Experience in delivery/project management, preferablyin Thales context
Strong people management skills
Experience of a complex multi-disciplinary, multi-site organisation
Extensive Customer and stakeholders management
Very good communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of railway operation and signalling principles is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Danish or German are considered a plus
