WHO YOU ARE
At IKEA we’re now looking for a new Business Navigation and Operation Manager to join our management team in our Aalborg store, and play a key-role in our financial and operational decision-making. You thrive when you can combine your sense of urgency with delivering high-quality work, and you do so with absolute ease.
You have previous management experience from a financial/commercial role, through which you’ve developed a thorough understanding of profit and loss, and the key performance measurements that we use to plan, follow up and steer the business.
Ideally, we see that you have a least 4-6 years of leadership experience in financial management and a proven record of consistency meeting agreed budgets and goals. In your daily work you’re proactive and take objective decisions based on your knowledge and expertise and common sense.
Furthermore, we value that you:
- Have a relevant degree in Finance or equivalent work-experience
- Can confront and manage poor performance when needed
- Are self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a larger team
- Thrive as an approachable, trustworthy and knowledgeable trusted advisor by your peers
- Are comfortable with coaching and challenging the organisation on relevant business navigation issues.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
The role calls for drive, determination and taking responsibility for ensuring that all departments have clarity of their profit and loss (P&L), and the actions that can affect these numbers. While you must expect that you must work swiftly, the timeliness and quality of your results are never compromised.
You will be actively contributing to the development of the IKEA store business plan and ensuring alignment with IKEA Global directions, the country’s priorities and local potential. You will together with Commercial Team seek and identify business opportunities which will grow sales and improve gross profit while keeping our customers in focus.
Additionally, you’ll have full overview of the P&L for the store and understand how different actions affects the different lines of P&L. This also means taking responsibility for summarizing and communicating our financial goals, including the P&L, to ensure they’re agreed upon, distributed and clearly communicated.
You will be responsible for store yearly financial budget and monthly forecasting, which also include securing that the store costs are in line with goals by highlighting deviations and potentials to support the management team to take corresponding actions.
One of your finest tasks is to be the direct leader of the Business Navigation team, which means managing and supporting the Recovery Manager and the Risk Manager and ensuring that the two legs of the business run seamlessly in everyday operations.
Moreover, your will:
- Ensure our store is always a safe and secure environment for our visitors and co-workers
- Work with the store team by supporting and challenging them for us to grow our business with long term profitability
- Partner with the Store Manager in coordinating the management process to ensure that the store is steered towards common IKEA objectives
