We are seeking a new Category Manager to be part of our Procurement Department in Nel in Herning. Together with our other Category Manager and the rest of the Procurement department, you will report directly to the Head of Procurement.
About the job
As Category Manager in Nel, you will be responsible for the purchase agreements for technical components for the production, where you will focus on ensuring a stable supply chain and on negotiating attractive framework conditions. At the same time, you will be an active partner during our R&D projects being the Procurement representative in the Product Delivery Process (PDP)
Your primary task will be, in collaboration with colleagues across the organization, to develop a competitive and resilient supply chain as is pivotal for Nel to succeed.
You will be the one, preparing plans to secure the best possible commercial conditions and contracts for the company and to negotiate all contracts with your supplier within your categories. We expect you to have a feel of the key trends for the most critical products/services and/or suppliers, within own area of responsibility.

- Cooling systems and components
- Hydrogen Compressor and storage
- H2 wetted components
Preferred educational background and professional experience:
We expect that you possess:
- Relevant educational background (it can be either HD Supply Chain, Master, or Bachelor) within supply chain, but more important is the several years of experience you have gained in a similar job.
- A commercially strong mindset but are interested in the technical aspects.
- Broad experience with purchase and category management and contract negotiations.
- Excel in using MS office and ERP system e.g. (NAV/BC)
Personal characteristics:
- You are eminent at creating good relationships, both in collaboration across the organization and when you have to make agreements with suppliers.
- As a person, you are proactive and results-oriented in your work approach, and you bring strong negotiation skills on a professional level. On top you have good knowledge of standards and trading conditions.
- You have solid experience with purchasing to projects from a manufacturing company - preferably within the mechanical segment.
- Technical understanding and experience with purchase of technical components
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in English both verbally and in writing
