Do you have a good business understanding and are you an experienced negotiator? Are you good at communicating and capable of identifying, monitoring, and managing potential risks? If yes, you should apply for this challenging position in our Global Procurement team at Palsgaard.
As our new global category manager, your primary area of responsibility will be to cover the full “life cycle” of supplier relationship and to drive our procurement strategy within specific categories – primarily hydrocolloids and starches.

You will be part of our qualified global procurement team of 7 colleagues. We value an informal environment and pursue strong collaboration during difficult times to achieve our goals and have fun while doing so.
The position is placed at our headquarter in Juelsminde (DK) with flexible working hours. You will report directly to our CPO, Pia Brinkmann Madsen.
As we work on a global scale, the position requires 15-30 travel days a year visiting business partners, suppliers, and Palsgaard sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
What do you need to apply?
You hold a procurement- or supply chain degree at master or bachelor level – alternatively, you have a relevant background in sales and marketing. You have at least 3+ years of experience from a similar commercial function within procurement or sales at strategic, tactical, and operational level.
You bring a solid procurement toolbox to develop our processes and ways of working. You have a structured approach and can prioritize your work as well as effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time as two days will not be the same. You take responsibility in creating results within your portfolio and are good at building trustworthy relationships working with a high level of integrity at all levels.
You demonstrate quality in execution and can work independently with a clear aim to define and drive best-in-class performance and bring high value to our customers, partners, and colleagues through an open and helpful approach.
You are familiar with MS Office, and, as we work in an international environment, good communication skills in Danish and English are required.
We will, of course, make sure to give you a thorough onboarding as well as the necessary training to ensure continuing professional development.

- Negotiations of agreements for global raw materials
- Collaborating with suppliers on performance and innovation initiatives
- Qualification of new suppliers and raw materials
- Communication and stakeholder management
- Acting as point of contact within portfolio for operational buyers
