About the department
In the Novo Nordisk Purification Plants (PP) in Kalundborg, we extract, clean and purify the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) of many of the quality products we supply to people around the world living with chronical diseases. To do this we have more than 40.000 components which need maintenance. The production setup is quite complex and the department responsible for this is PP Technical Support (PPTS)
PP Technical Support is a supporting department to four purification factories, where insulin Detemir, Liraglutide, Degludec and Rybelsus are being purified. Here, we are app. 60 employees divided between three teams: Calibration, El and SAP support, Mechanical Maintenance Support and Clean Utility Support.
In the Mechanical Maintenance Team, we are 1 engineer, 5 technicians and 15 craftsmen looking forward to welcome you and show you all the many things we are proud of here. We share tall ambitions and a fun tone that makes everything a little easier.
We want to change how we perform maintenance – and prepare our maintenance culture for an exciting future where conditions rather than a predetermined plan govern when we perform our tasks.
The job
As our new maintenance engineer, your main task will be to help us do just this – develop condition-based maintenance strategies and introduce them to a complex setup with many stakeholders. You will get your data from extensive SAP PM/MM setups and our process systems and analyse it in excel.
Certain components are just better than others, and when something fails more often than other parts, we need to know why and find solutions. You will be performing breakdown analysis and develop solutions ensuring it will never happen again, identifying tendencies and trends in the process. You will be aligning your findings into overall maintenance strategies, analysing the impact of these all the way up from single component failures.
To increase data and knowledge of our components, you will develop and implement inspection rounds. This will be very useful as you shape your knowledge towards creating the control charts for component performance that will be a backbone in our new maintenance culture.
Qualifications
You probably have a background in mechanical engineering or similar, and you have built your understanding of a complex production setup in a regulated industry - pharma, food or similar.
You handle multiple data sources with ease and your outstanding Excel skills and able employment of statistical tools in your analysis allow you to find the patterns hiding in large volumes of data and the potential solutions that go with them.
You have a broad understanding of maintenance theory and how to make it work in everyday day life, using SAP systems as a natural part of your efforts. More specifically, you understand the opportunities and challenges in “non-destructive testing” and other industry 4.0 technologies.
You can lead collaborative conversations of a technical nature in English as well as in Danish and communicate concerns and conclusions to all levels of the organisation as well as to colleagues with backgrounds very different from your own.
