København K

Maersk is the largest shipping and container logistics company in the world. A $40bn organization with over 85,000 people, we ship roughly 20% of the world’s container freight. We’re bringing our organization together to become an integrated container shipping and logistics company, fundamentally re-thinking how we do business while improving our customer experience as a core priority.

Technology systems are an integral part of this change. We're re-crafting both our customer-facing systems as well as our data-intensive operational ones, to provide outstanding services and experience to our customers.

To reach this goal we need a Product Designer to help shape this transformation.

We offer

Come join us to help utilize technology to tackle the world’s CO2 challenge!

You’ve probably heard of or have even worked with IoT devices before. But have you ever heard of IoT devices that are close to half a kilometer long, weigh in at 300,000 metric tonnes and float around in the middle of the Pacific Ocean? Well, we are lucky enough to work with these floating mega devices! We are even more fortunate to be tackling one of the most pressing issues in the world today….global warming.

But how do you mix large IoT devices with reduction of global warming?

Glad you asked! Shipping contributes to 3% of global CO2 emissions, and Maersk, as the world’s leading shipping company, has a large responsibility to tackle this issue and drive the industry towards solutions. Each decision starts with data and knowing our vessels’ data (intimately 😉) is part of our mission.

As a member of the tech teams in StarConnect
(as we call ourselves) you will contribute to tackling the carbon pollution issue by using technology. And help us monitor our fleet’s fuel and empower our seafarers to reduce our carbon emissions.

We’re progressing well on a journey to bring our 700 container vessels online by hooking up to countless sensors onboard. But this has proven to be quite the challenge! Hardware installations & upgrades, deploying our apps and dealing with limited connectivity on remote platforms are some of the daily challenges we face in Maersk Decarb. But nothing comes easy when you’re working with such grand ambitions!

The Fleet Insights team combines the full fleet information with an aim to increase office effectiveness in their efforts to support the frontline.

We are helping our users to detect trends, identify best practices and shift focus from the individual vessel performance to the fleet-wide energy efficiency. We are also using high frequency (near) real-time data to move into more event driven structure to identify areas needing immediate action. We are working closely with other teams to ensure the shared reality between the sea and shore, paving for a more collaborative workflow.

As a Product Designer, you will be working across the design cycle, helping generate a detailed understanding of our users' needs, collaboratively generating conceptual and detailed designs, and validating them.

You'll also be part of a larger experience design community inside Maersk global experience design community, working alongside our organizational owners, service designers, user researchers, engineering teams, and more. You will conceptualize both incremental and disruptive change, supporting those concepts with evidence of viability.

Joining Maersk will embark you on a great journey with career development in a global organization. You will gain broad business knowledge of the company’s activities globally, as well as understand how the complexity of IT supports the transport and logistics business.

At Maersk we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job – we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to: gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability or religious beliefs. We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high performing teams
