Foodjob Nordic is looking for a strong dairy professional to play a key role in the global QA organization at Chr. Hansen. As Product Quality Manager (PQM) you will be globally responsible for the QA setup within the Dairy culture product range. This includes managing the quality of the product range end-to-end across Innovation, Operations, Logistics, Commercial Development and Sales.

Chr. Hansen is the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of microbial cultures to the food industry. Controlling and continuously developing quality and food safety of products and ensuring customer trust is highly important in order to grow the Chr. Hansen business.

Position

Most importantly you will drive the establishment and maintenance of the needed and relevant QA frameworks to ensure quality and support business development. You will be the Quality go-to person for Sales, Commercial Development, Innovation, Operations and Logistics on issues related to the value chain product quality and quality framework.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support in defining product requirements for quality and product safety in innovation projects and in associated HACCP and FSSC22000 framework in relation to product application
  • Define specification framework and needed product surveillance/analysis programs to support claims and ensure performance in the market
  • Drive a professional complaint handling and investigation within the product area, maintain global overview of complaint issues and ensure that needed actions are taken
  • Drive implementation of developed frameworks – develop training materials and conduct training of local QA and other relevant parts of the organization
  • Drive the quality agenda and report on quality KPIs to Business management and represent quality in relevant leadership teams and cross functional groups

While food legislation and international food standards provides some guidance to product requirements, quality in the dairy culture field is mainly driven by required specifications of customers. Therefore understanding market value and market requirements and conveying these priorities to all parts of the Chr. Hansen organization is a central part of the role. Your success will be closely related to the overall quality performance of the Dairy Culture business with special emphasis on compliance with customer specifications.

As PQM you will be part of a strong team of PQMs, QA Managers and QA Specialists. The position will be based at Chr. Hansen’s production site in Avedøre, Denmark but will require about half of the time at Chr. Hansen headquarter in Hørsholm Denmark. The expected amount of international travel in the job is 5-15 days per year.

Profile

Besides a Master degree in Dairy Technology, Food Science or similar, you have acquired a solid understanding of the dairy value chain and the related quality and food safety aspects. Your original background may be product development, production or process management but most importantly you have acquired an understanding of what it takes to create a total quality experience for the customer. To succeed in this role you need experience with and understanding of quality assurance, food safety standards and ability to align quality requirements to product application and business needs.

As a person you are driven by delivering results, meeting customer expectations and continuously improving. At the same time you have the capability to pursue these goals in an organizing role where you are depending on others. You have a supporting and collaborative approach to interaction with customers and colleagues and you are able to transmit your personal enthusiasm and ensure deliveries according to plans and deadlines. Finally you have strong communication skills in both English and Danish, written and spoken.
