BE PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
As our new Category Manager for Indirect Procurement, you will be the key contributors for category management and driving the category towards excellence, whilst supporting COWI Group Procurement in developing and executing sustainable procurement strategy and improvement initiatives.

The Procurement area is identified by Executive Board as a key priority within COWI, thus the position offers a unique opportunity to join the journey of evolving towards a world-class procurement function.

MAINTAINING THE OVERVIEW

Being part of Indirect procurement, you will continuously optimize third party spend within individual category or sub-category, such as FM and IT category, to achieve the lowest possible total cost of ownership (TCO), and to ensure minimal contractual and commercial risks for COWI, while taking quality, environmental and social aspects into due consideration. You will be responsible for optimizing our global spending related to key sub-categories within Indirect categories and establishing sustainable procurement in COWI.

You will hold an important position in supporting COWI business in the creation, implementation and maintenance of contracts and best practice with a view to optimizing supplier performance. You will also develop, integrate and drive sustainable procurement as part of COWI Procurement Strategy.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing category and sub-category strategies
  • Cooperation with key stakeholders in identifying and carrying out selected procurement projects
  • Developing and maintaining procurement project pipeline for area of responsibility
  • Leading negotiations and contracting in cross-functional teams
  • Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for area of responsibility
  • Ensuring communication of and compliance to COWI Procurement Policies in area of responsibility
  • Developing, integrating, and driving sustainability, risk, and compliance agenda in Group Procurement
  • Building and developing internal and external professional network

Your role has a global range, and you will have a global impact in your area. Therefore, you can anticipate 10-20 travel days a year.

Furthermore, you:

  • hold an academic degree, e.g., an M.Sc. in Business Administration or Engineering, and have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience within Indirect Procurement
  • have documented experience in strategic procurement and supplier relationship management
  • have solid knowledge and experience on tender process, execution, and negotiation strategies
  • have solid functional knowledge of Procurement tools, techniques, and processes
  • have project Management Skills, including the ability to develop business plans, plan a project, drive problem solving and manage a project team
  • have good understanding of environmental and sustainable requirements, and experience with sustainability initiatives in procurement or supply chain

Experience in commercial or business law, or solid legal background is an advantage, but not a requirement.
