Three of our most skilled product owners in the domain has recently been promoted to other positions in the company and we are now looking for new talent. We are looking for a product owner (PO) ready to share and grow
We have three open positions as a PO in the Data & Cloud domain in BEC. Most of the daily work will be preparing a backlog for one team, but as a product owner you have the responsibility to interface with a broad set of experts in all of BEC and with our customers (the banks). Your daily manager will be the product manager, and you are part of a team of 9 POs in total for the domain.
The Data & Cloud domain have a broad responsibility to build and maintain all the necessary subsystems (a “platform”) for general development of Data & Analysis solutions. The customers of that platform are development teams and analysis experts in many of the other BEC domains (at least 150 developers) and in our member-banks (more than 500 developers). We build and support some of those dedicated solutions as well, and the various subsystems will transition from on-prem to Azure cloud over the coming years.
The Data & Cloud domain consist of close to 100 people and we share a common goal of providing top-of-the-class platforms and solutions. We are not afraid to learn from others, try new things and share what we know.
As a product owner you will have an opportunity to bridge the gap between business and development in an ambitious and skilled environment. Building and maintaining a roadmap for a team in an organization like BEC is very challenging and gives you the opportunity to improve your personal skills. We expect you to improve and be ready to share the gained knowledge and/or applaud the rest of us for doing the same.
Primary tasks and responsibilities
In the position as product owner, you will work closely with one of our nine teams. You will be part of the Product Management Team in the Data & Cloud domain and your stakeholders are representatives in a similar position in our member banks and other BEC domains. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:

Preferably, you have an educational background at Bachelor or masters level and 3-10 years of experience either in the Data analysis or Data management area or from a position working as a PO-like role in a professional IT organization or a in the financial sector.
Regardless of your background, your love of data and creating actionable insights and thorough analysis is what we need. We expect candidates to have sufficient technical skills and knowledge in the data area to maintain the necessary street credibility when they interface with other “data natives” in various areas.

In the position as product owner, you will work closely with one of our nine teams. - Prioritize in work being done by the team
- Always ensure that team members know what to work on next
- Communicate these priorities to customers and other stakeholders
- Ensure coordination between team priorities and that of others (e.g. dependencies and strategies)
- Bridge the gap between Business and Tech. This is very much depending on the team, but examples are:
- Explain the needs of a data-analyst in a bank to a tech-savvy team member
- Explain the process of a “BI-project” to a customer or manager
- Explain the various data layers in our platform to a customer or manager
- Explain the overall behavior of various platform components to a customer to pinpoint needed changes
- Run metadata-queries against the database and set up simple KPI’s to measure the progress of a delivery
- Drive the process to describe backlog items (at a feature level)

About the 3 teams
There are multiple positions in play:
- Team One are a group of Datawarehouse professionals who have been building various purpose-build data-applications (data marts) over the last couple of years. This team consist of a mix of employees located in Warsaw and Roskilde and is the second “swiss army knife” teams in the domain. Furthermore, they have the “first line” responsibility of our on-prem Enterprise data warehouse
- The Frontend Team are one of two platform teams, and they are responsible for the customer-facing platforms (Power-BI, BusinessObjects, SAS, R). They ensure that these platforms are run professionally and that we provide strong tools and skill-building to all the highly motivated “report-creators” in our user community
- The Cloud Center of Excellence is one of our largest teams and is responsible for the development of a 100% code-driven datacenter in the Microsoft Azure. The first “tenant” of that datacenter is the new Data & Analysis platform in BEC, but eventually other initiatives will follow. The team consist of DEV-ops experts, developers (and testers), architects and compliance experts to ensure that we cover both the operational side and the ability to scale the development on cloud as needed in the future
