My name is Sabrina Weymiens and I am Head of Transformation in Svitzer. I am looking for a new Transformation Partner to make our new strategy come to life driving an integrated cultural and business transformation. Our vision is “leading sustainable marine services – innovating with and for people, customers and communities.” We are not starting from scratch. We have been experimenting and doing Lean Startup for the last two years, having deep conversations with customers, and spotting unmet needs. We launched a product in less than six months. It is the first green towage offering in the market and generating new growth for Svitzer. As our new Transformation Partner, you will be shaping our transformation journey by coaching, inspiring, guiding and challenging our people. You will be the orchestrator of the change roadmap. You will need grit, passion, and a founder mentality to thrive in this role.
This is us
Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers manoeuvre their larger ships safely and timely in and out of port. You may have heard about the large container ship stuck in the Suez Canal – our tugboats in the region played an active role in supporting the mission of freeing the large container ship from its dire straits and we helped unlock the gridlock that global trade was experiencing due to the incident.
The Transformation Lab is a small team reporting to the CEO. Our team is located in Copenhagen with a beautiful seaside view in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Nordhavn. There is a nice gym with a sauna for the cold winter days if that’s something you’re into. We work flexibly, not because there is a policy telling us to, but because it just makes good business and work/life sense and creates an engaging work environment. As we are a global company you can expect some opportunities for travelling.
What is a Transformation Partner doing
In this role, you will orchestrate the operating system for the transformation. You will facilitate the collaboration and progress between all workstream owners of the transformation. You will organize the drumbeat for the governance and ensure we have the right reporting in place to know how much impact we are creating towards the transformation goals, and where we need to adjust our approach to transform. It is a fluid role that requires you to be such an awesome project/program manager that your colleagues don’t even see it is project management.
You ensure people thrive collaborating, call out issues and problem-solve together. Beyond workstream owners, you also design and run the operating system supporting experimentation across Svitzer. You design a good process to track what is happening throughout the organisation, what learnings are generated, what decisions are made - without creating a bureaucracy.
This job is about inventing a new way of working that goes beyond the way we drive the transformation but ultimately reinvents the way we work everywhere in Svitzer. In this role, you will interact with every one of us: from facilitating the global leadership team’s meetings to organizing workshops with our crews busy experimenting with new ways of working in ports throughout the world.
A third angle of the job is to act as co-strategist with our Communication team to conceptualise, drive, evaluate impact of and adjust change communications. You need to be a change communication enthusiast – with a deep passion for facilitating bottom-up movements and engaging an entire organization toward an exciting vision of the future.
We are a small team, which means we all roll up our sleeves. Yet, not that small as there are 4.000 people in our company who will work with us on the transformation.

- You have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with project management and program management: you don’t talk about agile and waterfall, you just make things move and people thrive.

- You always wanted to work internationally, waking up talking to a team in Australia, running a workshop in Dubai over lunch, and leaving the office while catching up with Panama on their latest experiment to hack our meeting culture.
Further we expect that you:
- Have a Master degree in any relevant topic that led you to apply
- Have 5+ years of experience in project management, change and/or transformation programs
- Consulting toolbox is a plus
- Have a high personal drive, high level of integrity, are structured, result oriented and proactive
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
