Turbine Solution Nacelle Engineering Nacelle Rear

Nacelle Rear Structure is a part of the Vestas Power Solutions. We have sites in Denmark, Porto and Chennai. The department is responsible for the design and integrity of the nacelle rear structure and the cover of the nacelle.
The rear structure is a vital part of the Nacelle as its function is to carry all of the components and support systems inside the Nacelle.
Responsibilities
In Nacelle Rear Structure you will, as Technical Lead, be accountable and responsible for both technical and leadership activities. This will include being for defining the scope for new projects, primarily cover projects, and for the execution of projects from early concept study to production start-up of new nacelles.
Your tasks will vary from complex development of new systems and concepts to implementation of improvements of existing products. You will be working in project teams supporting delivery on time, at the right quality, knowledge sharing and ensuring a pipeline of new technologies. You will be supporting our system leads ensuring that we take the right decisions in our design.

- Review and Sign-off on design solutions and documentation
- Drive development of best practices
- Support in the formulation of technology project proposals relevant for functional area
- Support strategic work and department development: both technical and behavioural
- Support implementation of business initiatives
- Understand the business and do what serves Vestas best across the value chain
- Act as role model - it's natural for you to share knowledge, lead, guide and advise your colleagues
Qualifications
- Solid theoretical knowledge in structural engineering of composite structures, at degree level
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in design of composite and carbon structures
- You have experience with project management preferable within Prince 2
- Experience with Systems Engineering will be an advantage
- A good understanding of statics and dynamic behaviour of composite and mechanical structures
- Skilled in structural analysis of composite materials at full structure and detail levels, using FE tools, preferably Ansys
- Experience in wind turbine design and 3rd party certification

- Ability to take up technical leadership and understand the business and value chain behind it
- Comfortable with taking decisions and being responsible for the follow up
- High degree of personal planning and ability to meet deadlines
- Focus on the project scope and ability to understand the impact a scope change will have on the project
- Process oriented and structured in the way you work
- Self-driven with a proactive mindset, but also a strong team player and motivator
- Flair for and interest in stakeholder management including coordination, planning and reporting
