Applications are invited for a position as Light Microscopy applications specialist at the Core Facility for Integrated Microscopy (CFIM), the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, to commence April 1, 2024, or soon as possible. The position is time limited for 4 years.
CFIM (www.cfim.ku.dk) was inaugurated in August 2010 and has serviced more than 2000 users with access to state of the art light- and electron microscopes. The Light Microscopy platform offers access to a broad range of light microscopy technologies (Incl. Digitalization of slides, WF, SPIM, LSM, Airyscan, SIM, STED, and SMLM), and Image analysis services. CFIM is located in the center of Copenhagen, at the North Campus of the University and has the mission of giving highest-level user service provision in advanced microscopy technologies to internal and external users from a broad range of disciplines within life sciences.
If you are passionate about light microscopy and technologies, and are looking for a career path within life sciences, you may want to join our team. We are a highly international team composed of light and electron microscopy application specialists, an image analyst, laboratory technicians and secretary covering nine different nationalities. The successful candidate will closely work with highly experienced light microscopy applications specialists, and be able to learn about, and develop a broad range of technologies and methodologies.

Salary and employment terms
Salary and employment terms are subject to the collective agreement made between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The employment will be at the level of academic employee (seniority-based salary) or special consultant, depending on your qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
In addition to the seniority-based salary, supplements may be negotiated on an individual basis.

- Maintenance and development of all systems at CFIM
- Introducing, training and supporting users on all CFIM light microscopes
- Cell Lab management
- Consumable stock management and ordering
- Developing/implementing sample preparation protocols for imaging experiments
- Helping with the organization of and the teaching in CFIM courses
The successful applicant should have:
- Education background on natural sciences
- Relevant experience in light microscopy applications in general
- Strong motivation to support and train users with a problem-solving mindset
- Excellent social, communication and organization skills
- Fluency in English
