Project Manager for New Product Introduction
Demant business development is fueled by a steady stream of new innovative products. Responsible for this process are cross-functional product programs that through 2-year cycles deliver new products in all segments. In Operations, two things are imperative: Supply chain efficiency in production and distribution of the new products - and in launch excellence.
Operations is looking for a Senior Project Manager to represent us in product development and in being overall responsible for Production and Supply Chain readiness for Launch.
Your working framework
You will be part of a team of four senior operations project managers in Denmark. Depending on where in the 2-year cycle, you could be frontloading a product platform project, or be coordinating a product launch to our Wholesales companies globally. Hardware Platforms are main drivers for cost and complexity in the supply chain. Together with R&D you will drive analysis of new platform fit with the supply chain infrastructure, to lay out the tracks for successful implementation and ramp-up.
Following platform development, the commercialization is driven by a Product Program. You will be part of the Program Management Team. Headed by a Program Manager, the team includes representatives from Sales & Marketing, R&D, Quality, IT and Operations. Within the 2-Year cycle, the Program will define, develop and launch new products. This is being planned and executed in accordance with the joint delivery capabilities of the participating functions.
You will have both matrix and line-function interfaces into the Demant organization which is why you should feel at ease working with many stakeholders. Your project reporting line will be to Product Program Managers. Your function reporting line will be to VP of Global NPI, who is part of the Global OPS LT.
As your stakeholders are spread globally, approx. 20 travelling days can be expected per year.
Your link to Operations
Global NPI is part of Operations, and overall responsible for introduction of new products into the supply chain. Our products are based on hardware and firmware platforms, in combination with an increasing number of software artefacts. With your solid understanding of a R&D development cycle, your job is to ensure all Operations deliverables are ready at time of launch.
You may have familiarized yourself with our product portfolio from the webpages of Oticon, Oticon Medical, Bernafon, and Sonic Innovations. We work under the regulatory requirements of ISO13485/FDA 21 CFR Part 820/MDSAP-regulations.
Performing well in the job
We provide a dynamic working environment in which being able to adapt to new situations is vital. As a person you are positive by nature in your approach to new challenges and uncertainties. You focus on solutions rather than problems. You have already been leading cross-functional projects in e.g., R&D, Marketing, Quality, Operations for a minimum of 5 years. You do have experience with Supply Chain from an ISO-certified company, and preferably from a medical device company.
Your social skills enable you to navigate within a complex stakeholder landscape. Your approach is constructive and structured, understanding that facts make stronger and better solutions. You lead by clear and frequent communication, by delegation and follow-up. Your educational background is most likely an engineering- or project management degree. A PMI certification is considered a plus, however, the most important thing is that you have a solid Project Management toolbox.
