About the department
The new internal Phase 1 unit will be responsible for running multiple clinical pharmacology trials, and will consist of a mix of doctors, nurses, project managers, laboratory technicians etc. It will be anchored in GD under Strategic Development, but with close collaboration across R&D functions such as Global Drug Discovery, Global Research Technologies and CMC. The facility will be located in Denmark, in the greater Copenhagen area.
Historically, all Phase 1 trials have been outsourced to CROs, but as NN enters new therapeutic areas, there will be increased requirements for agility and early decision-making. This prompted the decision to complement the current set-up with new options for early phase and exploratory development.
The position
As VP/Project Assistant in the phase 1 unit, you will play a key role in helping us establish the unit. You will be part of the core team, all wearing many different hats to ensure that all bases are covered, and our team is ready to go as we reach each of our milestones along the way.
Managing this will require great project management skills and we look forward to you helping us track and update the project plan and coordinate our budget process. Coordinating meetings with internal and external stakeholders and supporting our update meetings by preparing pre-reads, presentations, minutes and follow-up actions will be a strong contribution to our team. As we grow, our new team members will be guided with a great on- boarding program that you have planned.
The job also includes administrative support which can include purchasing of supplies and services, managing travel bookings, invoice handling, consultants contract handling and other ad-hoc tasks.
Qualifications
For a great start, an administrative or academic background within business administration or communication would be an asset. Fluency in English is a must as well as an eye for detail. Mastery of MS Office and a curious approach to new IT systems would be very helpful, as is knowledge of SAP.
Ideally the candidate we are looking for has at least 2-3 years of experience within the Pharmaceutical industry and with skills to meet the job requirements listed above. A strong understanding of R&D and its processes would be a bonus.
Structure, organisational skills and an ability to manage deadlines and priorities will help you. You are good at problem-solving, working independently and proactively in a busy environment, and have a broad overview and sense of details.
