About the department
Corporate Strategy is responsible for the development of Novo Nordisk’s corporate strategy, including therapy area strategies, and managing a portfolio of strategic initiatives as well as running ad hoc strategy projects for Executive Management. This includes driving strategic assessments of Novo Nordisk’s business areas and portfolios. As our new Strategy Project Director, you will join a team of 5 dedicated colleagues located in Søborg.
The position
As Strategy Project Director in Corporate Strategy you will play a key role in driving the corporate strategy discussions through the Novo Nordisk Strategy Review. In the role, you will identify key strategic challenges, scope strategic discussions and develop clear strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and Executive Management in collaboration with senior stakeholders from all functions in Novo Nordisk.
You will support stakeholders in defining key challenges to be addressed, developing the right recommendations and anchoring the strategic direction in functional and product area strategies to ensure successful execution. You will also be responsible for internal communicating the Novo Nordisk Strategy.
In addition, you are expected to drive larger strategic projects on behalf of Executive Management such as longer-term strategic outlook in specific areas or new business opportunities.
Qualifications
You have a Master of Science within economics, life sciences, engineering or similar, potentially combined with an MBA degree. You bring solid business understanding combined with 7+ years of relevant experience in working with strategy development is a must, either from within the pharmaceutical industry or from a consultancy or larger company. You are recognised for your strong analytical, strategic and stakeholder management skills, and you have led large strategic projects in complex business areas on behalf of senior management.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain the overview during pressure in a multifaceted and busy organisation are required. You will assume dialogue with a multitude of functions across the organisation and be in regular contact with senior management, thus you should be capable of and feel comfortable working and interacting at all organisational levels.
You thrive in a busy environment, bring a can-do attitude, have attention to detail and you maintain a healthy sense of humour, also when the pressure is high. You are a team player, but also enjoy working independently. Finally, you master the English language in speech and writing.
