Project and Operations Director Offshore Renewables

This role is central to Deepocean continued success within Offshore Renewables, it’s a high-profile leadership role and you will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced, challenging but rewarding environment as we continue to grow our business into a world-leading ocean services provider within Offshore Renewables. The position can be based in either Haugesund, Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger or Aberdeen.

A large part of the role will be to provide robust project management and operational oversight for the project management function in line with the business strategy and objectives. The project portfolio consists mainly of (but not limited to) projects related to installation of inter array cables, replacement of IAC’s, repair of any cables and related trenching and survey services. The position has primary responsibilities for the Offshore Renewables Business combined with close coordination and management of projects and opportunities in the wider Deepocean Group.

Duties and responsibilities
· Provide proactive support to Project Managers in risk and opportunity management.
· Create and develop a high performing team, aligned to organisational objectives.
· Coach and mentor the team in all aspects of project management and the delivery strategy to ensure the team are a high performing team.
· Provide updates on portfolio forecasts in terms of financial position, quality, and both delivery and financial risk.
· Plan and chair Monthly Project Reviews driving overall project performance and ensuring opportunities are maximised whilst minimising risk.
· Drive standards for ensuring strong relationships are maintained between the team, external and internal stakeholders, onshore and offshore.
· Work within a matrix model, aligning objectives for project team(s) with the entire Deepocean Group.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics or other relevant education, however candidates in possession of other qualifications and/or relevant experience within the industry may be considered.
• 15+ years of experience within Subsea Operations, preferably within cable installation, including staffing responsibility.
• Must be able to demonstrate prior experience in the defined principal accountabilities.
• An experienced manager from the Offshore wind Industry possessing demonstrable P&L accountability, project management and operational experience in the delivery (from tender to completion) of project of varying complexity.
• Strong Commercial interest & mindset. Have the ability to convert changed situations into opportunities for the organisation.
• Remains results driven, calm and organized in a dynamic business environment.
• A proven self-starter with experience in developing high performing teams.
