Sustainability Manager – Mission Control

Join us on our MissionZero to implement must-needed sustainability solutions in the cement and mining industry by creating a commercial oriented sustainability data management system.

About the role

As Sustainability Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of ‘Mission Control’ - our sustainability initiative to drive business transformation through portfolio and data analysis and measurement of the impact of our technologies at our customers sites. Using your strong expertise with LCAs and GHG calculations, you will pilot LCA assessments at customer sites. You will work directly with our commercial organisation in both cement and mining to integrate sustainability metrics into our sales proposals and develop a robust tracking system across the company that is recognized by the organisation.

About the department

You will join a small but specialized sustainability team with a global remit. We are an international team that works directly with the commercial business to implement our new sustainability programme MissionZero.

Your responsibilities:

  • Implement ‘Mission Control’ - to drive business transformation the further commercialization of our sustainability work
  • Oversee the implementation of LCAs at customer sites
  • Integrate the concept avoided emissions in our sales proposals and further quantify the sustainability benefits of our products
  • Liaise closely with the public affairs function and R&D functions in relation to external stakeholder management by providing concrete data to support our technology leadership position
  • Liaise with our engineering, process, digital and commercial functions to ensure robust data management

Your qualifications:

  • An engineering degree or possibly a business degree
  • Several years of experience with LCAs, sustainability metrics, data collection and analysis
  • A commercial mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills enabling you to run multiple tasks simultaneously and meet targets and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills making you able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and explain complex data in a simple way
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability related accounting standards and methodologies including energy, emissions and industrial waste processes.
