Conducive Space for Peace (CSP) is hiring an Administration and Finance Officer for a part-time position (18-25 hours per week). The Administration and Finance Officer will support the day-to-day management of CSP with special responsibility for financial management, financial reporting, human resource management, contracts, internal policy and systems development, as well as diverse administrative tasks that provide the glue for the functioning of the organisation.
As an Administration and Finance Officer, you will become part of a small team of ambitious change makers. CSP is a young organisation that stands on solid ground with an extensive global network, strong partners, and long-term funding in place.

Background
CSP is an NGO with the mission to contribute to the transformation of the global peacebuilding system in a manner that changes the structures, attitudes and processes of collaboration and creates a more enabling space for local agency and power in peacebuilding. CSP catalyses joint engagement among change agents to create evidence that builds momentum for change and forms the basis for innovative action and for leveraging change. Accompanying and supporting change agents in leveraging change is key to CSP’s approach of creating spaces that connect change agents to become part of a ‘community’ of change makers. With a focus on creating platforms for collective action among change agents, at the global and country-levels, CSP catalyses, strengthens and scales innovative and transformative initiatives so that they contribute to broader systemic transformation.

In line with its strategy adopted in 2019, CSP will, over the coming years, expand its engagement and contribution to a more effective international peacebuilding system that shifts power to local actors and provides a conducive space for collaboration for sustainable peace based on equity, dignity, trust, and reciprocity.
The roles and responsibilities of the Administration and Finance Officer
The Administration and Finance Officer will be part of a small team consisting of the Director, one Senior Adviser, two Programme Officers, and communications and administrative support staff. The Administration and Finance Officer will report to and work closely with the Director and the rest of the team in taking responsibility for the following:

The Administration and Finance Officer will have at least 5 years of experience working with administrative and finance management tasks as outlined above. Other qualifications would be:

Salary terms will be determined on the basis of years of relevant experience, qualifications, and Danish labour regulations. The Administration and Finance Officer will be employed part-time with an average of 18-25 hours per week. The successful candidate is requested to start December 1st or as soon as possible thereafter.

- Engaged with key stakeholders at country level, including several countries in West Africa, and at the UN and INGO headquarters level;
- Convened collaborative learning and action workshops in Senegal, Geneva, New York and Copenhagen with UN Peace and Development Advisers, multi-stakeholder teams from Syria, South Sudan, Mali, and Bosnia, and leaders from the peacebuilding community globally; and
- Facilitated strategic thinking and learning on how to transform the international system of support to peacebuilding.
In line with its strategy adopted in 2019, CSP will, over the coming years, expand its engagement and contribution to a more effective international peacebuilding system that shifts power to local actors and provides a conducive space for collaboration for sustainable peace based on equity, dignity, trust, and reciprocity.
The roles and responsibilities of the Administration and Finance Officer
The Administration and Finance Officer will be part of a small team consisting of the Director, one Senior Adviser, two Programme Officers, and communications and administrative support staff. The Administration and Finance Officer will report to and work closely with the Director and the rest of the team in taking responsibility for the following:
- Take a leading role in the financial management of the organisation including day-to-day book-keeping, budgeting, and financial reporting. Weekly status and financial meetings with the Director.
- Support the development of a strong policy framework and procedures related to human resource management and implement day to day human resource management, including issues related to contracts, salary, holiday, time registration, and other staff and work time related matters.
- Drive the process of further developing the GDPR policies and practices of the organisation.
- Ensure ongoing update of safeguarding policies and practices and their implementation.
- Day-to-day administration related to the office space, equipment, logistics around activities, etc.
Qualifications and personal competences
The Administration and Finance Officer will have at least 5 years of experience working with administrative and finance management tasks as outlined above. Other qualifications would be:
- Experience working with financial management, preferably in E-conomics.
- Experience in human resource management including online salary systems, recruitment processes, contracts, labour conditions and regulations.
- A structured, pragmatic and innovative approach to administrative tasks.
- An approach to financial management characterised by integrity, due diligence, accountability, and strong attention to good governance in a broader sense.
- Ability to manage diverse sets of tasks and organise the work according to clear priorities, deadlines, and long-term development processes.
- Flexibility to adjust and reprioritise tasks and take on new roles as demanded by the work and development of the organisation.
- Fluency in written and spoken Danish is essential, as is proficiency in written and spoken English.
