We are looking for a Nordic Financial Controller to build and manage the Controllership function within the assigned EMEA Region and promote a strong organizational culture within the finance team and wider business.
The position is based in Denmark but will oversee the function in both Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland with managerial responsibilities of 3-4 employees. Area of responsibility consist of three main areas. As Nordic Financial Controller you will be responsible for the annual financial statements, financial management and monitoring of the internal control environment including SOX. Furthermore, it is crucial that timely and efficient reporting is being carried out to ensure integrity of the reported results (P&L and balance sheet). Lastly you will have the main responsibility of analyzing and reviewing the balance sheet to ensure valid and accurate balances.

A good communicator with a proactive attitude that does not mind going into the detail if necessary but can also see the big picture. Someone that is organised & structured and can rise to challenges. Can deal with the complexity of having multiple ERP systems in the countries. Good systems knowledge.

The primary tasks are:
- Responsibility for the statutory financial reporting with the region of all legal entities under local GAAP. This includes Published Accounts, Taxation matters, and other statutory reporting to public bodies.
- Drive month-end close timetable to meet Group reporting requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems, identify opportunities to enhance system efficiencies.
- Responsibility for coordinating the annual audit for the regional legal entities (as required) between the auditors and internal staff.
- Co-ordinating with the tax team ensuring that the financial data is provided on a timely basis to the tax authorities, including ensuring that the relevant legal entities are tax compliant.
- Liaising with the local Finance teams, FP&A and Corporate teams to fulfill any ad hoc information requests.
- Build a culture of strong financial control and continuous improvement within the finance & Controllership team while effectively manage, motivate and develop the team.
To succeed in the position, we expect that you:
- Have a relevant degree within the field of Accounting.
- Have experience in similar role and a minimum of 5 years experience within the field.
- Are familiar with Nordic local financial statements and regulations.
- Adopt well to new systems and understand how to use them quickly.
- Have experience with people management.
- Familiarity with US Gaap would be beneficial.
- Thrive in an environment where documentation and compliance are key factors.
