Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) is looking for an experienced accountant who will help lift the Global Financial services function to the next level.
STG is consolidated as a global listed organisation. With our focus on growth and profitability, the demands to run globalised efficient processes and changes are increasing. The journey is supported by an array of activities initiated to help up globalize STG’s Global Financial Services.
The Nordic regional part of Global Financial Services supports STG’s headquarters and parent company, STG’s Danish production units as well as STG’s Nordic sales organisation.
Key responsibilities
As our new accountant colleague, you will take on the responsibility for being our control champion and engaging with local control owners to advice on risk identification and mitigation (control design) including sharing and supporting the implementation of best practices. You will be our STG-Global data collector of energy and GHG emissions, where you have to help ensure that all relevant data in the right quality is being collected.
You will also have joint responsibility for correct and timely execution of the daily bookkeeping and monthly closing. You have a passion for the hands-on daily accounting tasks, but you are also excited to drive tasks demanding experience and overview, which also enables you to help us develop processes and systems.
Your primary areas of responsibility are:
Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S, Sandtoften 9, 2820 Gentofte or Tobaksvej 1, 5610 Assens will be your regular place of work depending on where you live, but you will visit both locations from time to time. You will report to the regional Head of Global Financial Services, Githa Elsborg.
About you
You have a bachelor of commerce (merkonom), Academy Profession degree (AP) or a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (HD) topped up with at least 6 years of relevant experience in international corporations of which a few years of auditing will be an advantage. Detail orientation and meeting deadlines will be key.
You will also have the ability to organise and prioritise your tasks and responsibilities. Proactive networking comes natural to you, and you maintain your good relation with your internal and external stakeholders.
You are also a team player who understands the need to be flexible and pragmatic, while adhering to the processes and systems in place. You are familiar with accounting principles and standards just as ERP-systems (AX) and Excel.

- Be our link to Financial Compliance
- Perform Self-assessment/ peer review as part of self-assessment
- Implementation of best practices of controls
- Ensue training in STG´s control policy and related guidelines an templates
- Regional data collector of energy and GHG emissions
- Gather data of energy and GHG emissions for the other STG regions
- Reconciliations and specifications of costs/assets/stock/production variances
- Support forecast and budget processes
- Prepare relevant tobacco reports for authorities
- Report and explain sales and production back-log
- Prepare relevant material/specifications for audit
