Drive the acquisition and management of Global Strategic Accounts

Nilfisk is a global leader within sales and service of professional cleaning equipment, autonomous cleaning solutions and digital services for the cleaning industry, with a revenue above 1bn Euro. Right now, we are hiring a Global Strategic Account Director to further strengthen our team focusing on the most strategic Customers globally.

Hunt for new Key Accounts with great sales potential

The Global Strategic Account Director identifies and maintains strong relationship with key strategic customers focusing on the entire Nilfisk portfolio. Assigned to existing and greenfield accounts, the right person is responsible for achieving sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives. The Global Strategic Account Director leads the global account team consisting of local account managers and cross functional support teams supporting the designated accounts.

You will be working on hunting and attracting large opportunities at existing or new clients/accounts, in which we can expand business significantly with our autonomous portfolio. The market for professional cleaning equipment and services is to some extent unconsolidated leaving high potential to grow business.

You will report to the Senior Vice President and head of Global strategic accounts, and will have a focus on Global Pharma and F&B accounts. The role is global so can be located anywhere, however given Customer locations, applicants based in Denmark, US, UK, Switzerland or Italy will be preferred. Depending on the candidate profile other location can be considered.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts (existing and new). Handle all client stakeholders and the entire process from initial contact, understanding client needs, develop opportunities and close agreements with target clients
  • Coordinate the involvement of other internal teams, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
  • Meet or exceed assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for a short and long-term period
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Lead sales development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel
  • Understand competition and general business climate in assigned territory

Experienced B2B Key Account or Business Development leader

We believe that the right candidate has 10+ years’ experience working as a Business developer or Strategic Accounts Manager on an international scale with focus on solution selling, preferably working with fortune 500 clients. You know how to handle first point of contact, lead a global team in a matrix organization, drive the sales and negotiation process until a deal is closed. You understand the value of exceeding client expectations in the sales as well as delivery phase.

Further the right candidate has the following skills and personal traits:

  • A natural sales hunter that possess an inherent desire to engage with new customers/partners to drum up new business, always looking for the next opportunity.
  • As a hunter you have the strong prospecting skills required to hunt regularly. You are capable of reaching decision-makers and asking for introductions.
  • With your empathy, communication skills, personal impact and business acumen you understand the clients’ needs throughout the entire process, translate this to delivery model and close deals with large strategic clients
  • With your high level of energy, discipline and ambition you hunt through sometimes long and tiresome processes until the deal is closed and delivery to the client starts
  • With your structured, organized and detailed approach you handle the sales / negotiation phase as well as delivery phase with a safe hand with high client evaluations as a result
  • Your strong leadership skills and know-how enables you to lead a global account team in a matrix organization, where you represent Nilfisk towards our most strategic customers
  • As the role will have a focus on Pharma and F&B customers, experience from managing customers within these segments will be an advantage in this role and preferred in the recruitment process.
