Sales Manager HUGO - Nordics
HUGO BOSS Nordic ApS | Copenhagen | Denmark | Full-time

To sell any of the HUGO collections (pre order and stock) and ensure that the sales budgets are achieved. To understand the distribution strategy for the respective collection. To follow up on actions, provide excellent customer service, and maintain the relationship with our existing customers. To locate new prospects and business opportunities.

What you can expect:
  • Sell any of HUGO’s seasonal collection, which will be 4 times per year
  • Regular visits to customers in all Nordic & Baltic countries to sell and promote any of the HUGO collections, ensure merchandising standards are in line with global strategy and stock holding is in line with sales performance
  • Planning of budgets as well as analysis of past sales figures before each selling season
  • Work closely with the respective brand management/design team to:
  • Understand direction, fabric composition and pricing to build customer brand knowledge and awareness
  • Discuss issues affecting product performance
  • Constantly communicate market trends, sales performance, design feedback and needs of the market
  • Compile seasonal sales and product information reports to aid future development of the collection within the Nordic market
  • Collate weekly and seasonal sales information from key accounts (including sell thru) to effectively analyse business and respond accordingly
  • Work closely with sales administration to ensure highest possible customer service and follow through on orders/deliveries
  • Understanding of key competitors
  • Market Research related to identifying new business opportunities
  • Understanding of independent business, department stores, online and franchises.
  • Carry out in-depth training throughout the region on an annual/bi-annual basis. The training must be tailored specifically to the customer (based on buy, profile etc.)
  • Regular contact with customers to ensure;
  • Merchandising standards are in line with HUGO standards
  • Stock holding is in line with sales performance
  • Maintain and update customer information in customer cluster database on a monthly basis
  • Relationship building with clients ensuring long term partnerships
  • Set up & disassemble collections
  • Maintain merchandising standards in the showroom and be responsible for stock inventory
  • Assist with sample sale
  • Assist with sales planning and sales forecast
  • Complete visit reports after each customer visit to Line Manager and Head of Wholesale/ Wholesale Director
  • Log all travel activities in the Visit/Training sheet and update Line Manager and Head of Wholesale with movements
  • Any other ad hoc tasks
  • Regular seasonal visits to Nordic & Baltic customers to ensure merchandising standards are in line with global strategy and stock holding is in line with sales performance

VM

  • Attend DOS Model Store once per season, secure implementation of seasonal Model Store guidelines with WHS Partners
  • Attend DOS Model Store once a year, secure implementation of seasonal Model Store guidelines with WHS Partners.
  • Clear and detailed understanding of HUGO VM Guidelines across all wearing occasions.
  • Ensure franchise takers to present HUGO products according to HUGO VM guidelines. Ensure independent wholesalers to present HUGO according to VM guidelines interpreted in Partners generic environment.
  • Evaluate online partner weekly for compliance with HUGO online guidelines


Training and Development

  • Deliver Key Account in Store Training seasonally


Customer relations

  • Responsible of Cluster Customers NOS stock is up to date and monitor stock holding of NOS on a regular basis, to optimize performance.
  • Bi Weekly visits to key accounts, where strong relationships must be built with brand partners, and contact list updated monthly. Build rapport with floor Staff and brand ambassadors.

  • Clear understanding and delivery of Hugo Online distribution with an emphasis on brand delivery and brand equity
  • Awareness of block booking, checking of double bookings, sample booking throughout the season and any other SAP functions needed for the role
  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing business plans with Key Customers to optimize performance on a regular basis.
  • Detailed follow up throughout the season with a view to identifying re order opportunities with buyer/merchandisers based on weekly reports
  • Establish first point of contact & communication for all Menswear customers for plans/issues/actions and feedback in appropriate style updating line manager and Directors at all times.
  • Clear understanding and delivery of Hugo Online distribution with an emphasis on brand delivery and brand equity
  • Understand/support /visit and review all POS for Key Partners and Customers


Market and development

  • Understanding of key competitors brands as well as execute price comparison twice annually.
  • Ability to evaluate trends and identify areas of risk and opportunity
  • Understanding of distribution strategy for HUGO Brand and identify future potential partners and feedback to Commercial Director HUGO to build profitable growth plans


Planning and analyzing

  • Track annual stock sales monthly and deliver actions to achieve OB Plan Figure
  • Process stockist enquiries promptly and according to HUGO criteria.
  • Support Stock Sales with seasonal and annual stock sales targets.
  • Understanding of key competitors for all Menswear as well as pricing
  • Ability to evaluate trends and identify areas of risk and opportunity
  • Clear understanding of commercial budgets across all lines and the ability to deliver growth


  • Pre-season order book analysis and BIS reporting across all customers, analyse sell-in each season to ensure adequate cover based on their distribution. If necessary overlay with the DOS seasonal buy and partner where appropriate
  • Track annual net sales monthly and deliver actions to achieve OB Plan Figure
  • Deliver strategy by Brand Gender Line (BGL) as well as minimum spend by BGL and account
  • Planning, analysis and execution of budgets for Quarterly Reviews with Commercial Director HUGO.
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of growth/action plans for Key accounts and evaluate this quarterly.


Operational

  • Attend form and fabric meetings at HQ


  • Extensive co-ordination with all areas of the business including Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Shop Construction and Senior Management
  • Develop retail understanding including space and option planning to guide customers and sales team to deliver ideal options versus space
  • Understanding of SIS concepts, capacities, costs and lead times
  • Attend form and fabric meetings at HQ


Travel

  • Organize and oversee travel plans for team ensuring existing clients, potential clients and parallel accounts.
  • Produce ‘road-trip’ reports
  • Log all teams travel activities in the Master travel sheet and update Head of Wholesale with movements.


Team Management:
Although Sales Managers will supervise and has overall responsibility for team and will manage all other people management areas.

  • Prepare and conduct appraisals for team
  • Produce and conduct tests on distribution/product knowledge/sales figures/clients company structures to ensure continuous development within the sales team.
  • Conduct 1st stage interviews with HR or Senior team members for any vacancies within team
  • Be responsible for New Starter induction within team; including introductions, company history, systems training, new starter paperwork and on the job coaching.
  • Manage and authorise direct reports holidays ensuring adequate cover in showroom
  • Work closely with other Sales Managers and Senior Sales Managers towards sales strategy, trainings and travel plans
  • Be approachable for the team to deal with daily ad hoc queries
  • Motivate and develop Key account managers Senior/Sales executives
  • Manage team performance
  • Ensure regular update meetings with Senior/Sales Executive, Key Account Managers Managers and Head of Wholesale
  • Demonstrate a high degree of leadership and initiative providing structure, direction and feedback to ensure and encourage positive team performance and development within the Wholesale Team
  • Provide mentorship when necessary to direct reports
