On behalf of Ballard Power Systems Europe A/S, Randstad is looking for a dedicated and self-motivated Sales and Business Development Professional for the truck segment in Germany. You will be responsible for facilitating the customer acquisition and revenue growth targets and maintaining the company’s market leadership in fuel cell solutions.
Ballard Power Systems is the leading global provider of clean energy and fuel cell solutions. In Europe, Ballard’s focus is on the following key markets: Bus, Truck, Rail, Marine and Critical Communication Infrastructure. These key markets in Europe are in different stages of maturity, and the market maturity varies from region to region depending on the market conditions and design.
As Ballard´s new Sales and Business Development Professional, you will focus on expanding Ballard´s presence and market share within the truck area in Germany and eventually enter other European countries. You will report to the Sales Director of EMEA & India based in Berlin and will be working with the Commercial team with colleagues in Germany, Denmark, France, the United Kingdom and Norway. As the team expands, you will be able to lead new sales managers to help achieve aggressive growth forecasts becoming the undisputed leader in fuel cell solutions.
The position is based in Germany with remote work from home; however, approx. 40-50% of your time will be required for travelling both to partners and conferences throughout Europe, as well as to the European headquarters in Denmark and to the corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Canada.
The key responsibility is to maximise the sales team’s potential, synergies with key accounts, especially with Automotive OEMs and integrators as well as develop new leads whilst driving them to a close.
As the new Sales & Business Development Professional at Ballard, you will get the following key tasks:
• Achieve growth and hit sales targets individually at first as part of the overall sales team
• Collaborate with the European team, the Global Commercial team and the other parts of the Ballard organization to craft sales plans and participate in the go-to-market and overall strategy of the fuel cell solutions
• Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the customer base for multi-year revenue targets ensuring Ballard´s position as the gold standard in the industry
• Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with customers and understanding their needs
• Present realistic but aggressive sales and revenue forecasts to the management team
• Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

• A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or another related field of study
• 8+ years of proven successful experience in the Truck/Commercial Vehicle segment and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales and/or Business Development
• Successful experience as a sales representative or sales manager/director, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
• Demonstrated an ability to communicate, present, influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization
• Knowledge of Salesforce.com (highly preferred)
• A fluent level in German and English - both written and speak
