Engineer for Embedded Software Development in R&D Core SW

You will become part of a global team of innovative software developers, located in both Denmark and Malaysia, being responsible for the platform foundation on which we build our products.
Our flexible controller platform is based on a modern Linux/Yocto environment running on high-end ARM processors utilizing larger touch displays with React based GUIs.

Your everyday tasks will consist of:

• Clarify features and requirements in co-operation with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Specify technical solutions based on needs, user stories, the frameworks and our architecture.
• Define and estimate the scope of development tasks.
• Develop solutions and support the tests of the specified solution elements.
• Optimize and maintain existing code base and tools.

The software platform is used across multiple Controller applications, which are for production of Chickens, Pigs, Dairy and Insects.

We are:

• Using Visual Studio for software development and the primary programming languages are C++ and C.
• Using Python and C# to develop and maintain our build and test tool chains.
• Using Git for branching, merging and version handling.
• Performing continuous test in an automated SW Test Center to secure high quality level.
• Improving our build environment to shorten turnaround times.
• Using Agile methodologies on a team level and for alignment across teams, we are using SAFe as development methodology.

You will be part of the entire development process and you will have the opportunity to follow the product development process from start to end, including final validation with real customers.

To be a success we imagine that:

• You hold a bachelor’s in Computer science, Engineering or similar.
• You are a quality- and result-oriented person for whom software development is a passion.
• You are a skilled embedded software developer with a very good understanding of and enthusiasm for working with complex systems, or you are a newly graduate and strive for more experience within this area.
• Thrive working in smaller teams and you find it easy to collaborate with our English-speaking colleagues based in Germany and Malaysia.
• It is an advantage if you have experience within Ethernet, CAN, databases, Linux, build environment and test automation.
