Opportunity

A key role in our new Innovation team in cloud engineering; you will be supporting our overall of objective of enabling a culture of innovation in Maersk through:

• Rapid prototyping and hacking of ideas to fix problem spaces for both our internal technology teams as well as our key customers.
  
  
• Building out our own innovation products for logging and managing ideas, event experience apps, etc.
  
  

You will be part of a small but highly passionate and capable team with colleagues in the UK, Spain, Germany and Denmark. Denmark is our main location.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and support both internal as well as, eventually, key customer teams to develop prototypes as part of hackathons and similar style activities.
  
  
• Follow the DevSecOps approach, contribute on engineering activities for the sprint including coding, design, testing, DevOps pipeline and support.
  
  
• Develop and support products directly owned by the innovation team. These include idea databases and event experience apps.
  
  
• Guide and mentor other teams in Maersk in rapid prototype development.
  
  
• Transition working prototypes to platform development teams for adoption into their product features.
  
  
• Continuously stay up to date on relevant technologies and use this knowledge to provide the best experience to our customers.
  
  
• Propose ideas and provide inputs to the innovation team and Cloud Engineering roadmap.
  
  
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, Maersk Values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  
  

What You’ll Do

We are looking for

Your Qualifications

• Graduate Degree - B.E/BS/MS/PhD in any stream (Computer Science most preferred).
  
  
• 6+ years of experience in software product engineering.
  
  

You

• A highly competent full stack software engineer with proven in rapid prototyping in both UI and backend development.
  
  
• A proven experience in rapid prototyping and experimentation to test ideas quickly.
  
  
• A passion for putting the customer first and solving our customer needs.
  
  
• Comfortable working directly with our internal customers and external customers to understand their needs, demo mock ups, gather feedback, etc
  
  
• Hands-on knowledge in designing and building APIs and UI front ends and adopting to enterprise design standards.
  
  
• Public cloud experience (Azure, Google, AWS). Certification is a plus
  
  
• General understanding about database technologies both document oriented and relational. Postgres/MS SQL, Cosmos/MongoDB, Entity Framework Core experience.
  
  
• Broad infrastructure knowledge around network, storage, network and security.
  
  
• Applied experience in industry recommended software design, patterns and practices.
  
  
• Strong opinions on technology, product and design backed by data relevant to our business.
  
  
• Strong sense of ownership and commitment to grow and build product thinking, coupled with a strong passion for technology and innovation.
  
  
• Strong sense of ownership focuses on user experience, responsiveness, quality and innovation.
  
  
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
