About the department
The Data Management & Analytics team is an international, high performing team with a variety of technical and analytical backgrounds. The responsibilities of Data Management & Analytics ranges from data acquisition/ingestion, data analysis, and data engineering, to evangelizing the opportunity to apply data and advanced analytics, initiating analytical initiatives and supporting data science users of our platform. We have built and are operating the data lake and data science platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support our mission; and we are continuously developing and extend the platform. The overarching goal is to use data to gain new understandings and insights, and to ensure we deliver value to our stakeholders and the business.
We are currently 17 internal and external employees in 3 different locations in India, USA and Denmark, and growing, with various titles such as IT Architect, System Analyst and Data Engineer. We are planning to expand our offerings to the global organization, particularly in the data engineering and data science space, why we need an extra resource to succeed with our journey and ambitious vision.
The department is undergoing an amazing transition journey embedding data and analytics as a key component in Novo Nordisk and is anchored within the Digital Incubator & Innovation are in Global IT.
Challenges
As Data Analyst you will work with our AWS platform to develop, deploy and maintain data pipes which will deliver transformed data to our business units across Novo Nordisk. You will be working for internal customers to deliver data that fit their business needs by implementing their business logics on top of the raw data and to make the data consumable by visualizing the data. You will be collaborating with other data engineers in the DK team to extract, clean, transform and visualize data, and you will collaborate closely with DM&A Operations in India to whom you will hand over your work for operations and maintenance post go-live. In your role you will be working using the Agile methodology for developing and delivering data and analytics products.
Qualifications
You have finalized your studies of your Master degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Economy or similar and you have proven excellent results from your studies.
You have a good understanding of data modelling, data cleansing, data visualisation perhaps using tools like Alteryx and Tableau. You may also have a good understand of programming or statistical models using SQL, Python or R.
We are working in a cloud based environment which you might have experience using from your studies or in another job.
You should have a ‘can do’ mind-set and see yourself as a fast learner with a solution and service oriented mind set.
To succeed in this role, it is crucial that you thrive with working in teams where we work together to achieve common goals and where we are relying on each other.
Finally, you must possess a strong work ethic and have the willingness to take responsibility for your own learning and value that you play an important role in making lives easier for people living with diabetes and other chronic diseases. Since you will be working in a global environment, some travel activity may occur.
Fluency in English (Oral and written) is a prerequisite.
