Spearheading Technology Transformation Efforts for the Road Business
We are currently working on transformation efforts for the Road Business to move away from our legacy TMS towards a potential future platform. Your technical knowledge and expertise are expected to strengthen the existing team of specialists.
As a Technical Solution Architect / Specialist, you will be working closely with other solution and business architects, product owners, implementation specialists and vendors to articulate and design technical solutions to best serve the Road Business involving the transition and co-existence of modern and legacy platforms. As such, your technical expertise is paramount to our success.
Apart from our efforts to move towards the future platform, Road IT Europe also owns and operates a significant amount of live operational systems that support the Road Business. As part of the architecture team, it will also be part of your role in ensuring that we have solutions that are designed and implemented to secure stable and scalable operations.
Some of the assignments or responsibilities you can look forward to as part of the team will be:
Shaping the future business and IT solution landscape
The ideal candidate can be from either an infrastructure management background or software development background with DevOps experience. You will need to be fluent in application and infrastructure related conversations being able to collaborate with counterparts from the server teams, network teams, security as well as our own application development and implementation team. As a Technical Architect / Specialist, you are passionate about applying new technologies and methodologies to solve real business problems. You create the structure necessary to provide the overview of complex situations as well as leading specialists in delivering high quality solutions. You enjoy working independently and can interact with all levels of the organization. Additionally, you have some if not all of the following:

Some of the assignments or responsibilities you can look forward to as part of the team will be:
- Design and facilitate implementation of technology / infrastructure solutions that conforms to DSV’s governance standards. This includes considering aspects of scalability, security, maintainability and futureproofing the solution. Lead and facilitate conversations within Global IT to build technology / infrastructure solutions from concept to implementation.
- Lead and secure that our production systems have ‘painless’ deployments. This includes implementing deployment methods and tools that can work in relation to our Change Management process.
- Participate in dialogues and coordination efforts around building integrations between systems. You will mainly assist the product teams to design and articulate the desired solution and coordinate the implementation together with our integrations team.
- Work with our system owners on Disaster Recovery planning efforts. You will provide support and guidance to the teams on what to look out for, construct plans for Disaster Recovery as well as support them during execution if needed.
- Support operations when there are major incidents to ensure quick service recovery where relevant.
- Design and implement tools and solutions that will help with monitoring and improve performance of our systems.
- Support our Agile development teams to ensure smooth implementation of new solutions
- Helping the organisation adopt new technologies and methodologies

- relevant degree within IT or engineering
- 5+ years of experience from similar positions within infrastructure management, software development or solution architecture.
- Hands on experience working with on premises, SaaS and cloud technologies.
- Hands on experience working with deployment tools and methods
- Experience working with Databases (Oracle and DB2 experience is an advantage)
- Experience working with integration technologies and methods in areas of APIs, ESB and EDI
- Experience working with Agile development and DevOps
- Experience working in an international transformation programme
- Great communication skills, and speak and write English fluently
