Studiejob - Horsens
For teaching at the bachelor engineering program within Software Technology in Horsens, we are looking for 1-2 full time assistant/associate professors (adjunkter/lektorer). The positions are available preferably from 1 August 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Software Technology program in Horsens consists of a common part with general software engineering competences along with three specializations (IoT, Interactive Media, and Data Engineering), and we are looking for 1-2 new colleagues to cover both the common part with general software engineering competences as well as within the IoT specialization.
The bachelor engineering program within Software Technology is experiencing heavy growth and is currently educating more than 500 Danish and international students. In addition to this, we are participating in both Danish and international projects within industry 4.0, interactive media, and IoT/embedded systems.
We offer an interesting, international and multidisciplinary teaching environment with highly engaged and competent colleagues. Currently, we are approximately 30 full time lecturers and, in addition to that, external lecturers and administrative employees are part of the program. We are engaged in a close and widely scoped cooperation with companies and the other bachelor engineering programs at VIA University College.
The Software Technology program is taught in English and in Danish.

For the open position within the field of teaching and supervising general software engineering competences, some of the following fields are requested:
In addition to teaching within some of the above fields, you will be supervising students’ semester projects and bachelor projects. Moreover, continuously participate in planning, updating, and developing courses within general software engineering competences in close cooperation with colleagues.
Conditions of appointment
The conditions of appointment including award of supplement for qualifications and pension for both positions are in accordance with the collective agreements and contracts that apply to the Danish State Sector. The positions are open for appointment at the latest 1 August 2022 or as otherwise agreed. Place of employment is Horsens.

- Want to work both analytically and application oriented in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Would like to teach and work with young people.
- Have very good English and Danish speaking and writing skills, as the Software Technology program is both taught in English and in Danish.
- Seek constructive dialogue with your colleagues, are flexible and have very good communication competences.
IoT, teaching and supervising
Some of the below competences are requested for the position within the IoT-specialization:
- Experience with HW/SW development within embedded engineering
- Experience with and desire to develop interface electronics to Micro Controllers (MCU)
- Knowledge about computer architecture
- Knowledge about typical sensors and actuators
- Knowledge about control and automation
- Knowledge about digital signal processing
- Knowledge about FPGA
- Knowledge about IoT-networks and communication
- Knowledge about AI/Machine Learning
General Software Engineering competences, teaching and supervising
For the open position within the field of teaching and supervising general software engineering competences, some of the following fields are requested:
- Knowledge about general Java programming
- Knowledge about JavaScript, bootstrap, HTML
- Knowledge about relational database design and SQL
- Knowledge about .NET and ASP.NET development, including REST, Blazor, Entity Framework Core
- Knowledge about algorithms and data structures, including linear structures, various trees, graphs
- Interest in and preferably experience with teaching engineering skills within software development, programming, documentation (UML), and test.
In addition to teaching within some of the above fields, you will be supervising students’ semester projects and bachelor projects. Moreover, continuously participate in planning, updating, and developing courses within general software engineering competences in close cooperation with colleagues.
